Tests positive for COVID-19 Dillon was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday after testing positive for the virus, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Impact Dillon won't be able to play Thursday against the 49ers. Aaron Jones (calf) may be available, but Jamaal Williams is the only running back that's currently healthy for Week 9. Dillon will have to clear the league's COVID-19 protocols before returning to team activities.

Limited workload again Dillon carried the ball five times for 21 yards and caught his only target for 16 yards in Sunday's 28-22 loss to the Vikings.

Impact The 37 scrimmage yards were a career high for the rookie, but for the second straight game Dillon's touches were limited while working behind Jamaal Williams, even with Aaron Jones (calf) sidelined. If Jones is able to return to action in Week 9, Dillon's role could shrink even further.

Impact Dillon was expected to get greater opportunity in the absence of Aaron Jones (calf). However, he was out-touched by Jamaal Williams 24-5 and managed just 11 total yards. Given that Jones' absence is expected to be brief, it's likely that Dillon missed the opportunity to command a bigger workload in the offense, at least for the time being. He and the Packers will take on the Vikings in Week 8.

Impact So far this season, Jones has averaged 18.6 touches per game, leaving a significant workload up for grabs. Williams himself boasts 9.2 touches per game and has the most experience among those available out of the backfield, so he's the better bet to lead the unit. Still, the Packers invested a second-round pick in April's draft in Dillon, and he's responded with 13 carries for 65 yards through five contests. Look for Dillon at least to spell Williams and perhaps be featured on a handful of possessions Sunday, with practice squad callup Dexter Williams on hand to pick up the scraps.

Impact Jamaal Williams has seen far more work than Dillon this year, but it is possible the Packers could lean on the rookie as their lead ballcarrier, with Williams then handling more of the receiving work. Of course, we still need to see how things play out with Jones, who appears to be headed for a game-time decision ahead of Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. Williams would be the safer fantasy play in the event of a Jones absence, but Dillon would also offer some upside.

Impact Dillon averaged an impressive 6.2 yards per carry as Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams both struggled, with the majority of his production coming on a 20-yard rumble in the fourth quarter. The rookie's impressive cameo nearly doubled his season rushing output and could earn him another look as a change-of-pace option in the coming weeks. Dillon will look to build off the best effort of his young career next Sunday against the Texans.

Impact Dillon got a chance to run the ball after not taking even one carry in Week 3, but his role remained minimal, as he was on the field for just three plays on offense. It's possible the Packers could get him more involved coming out of their Week 5 bye, but with fellow backs Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams both getting the job done there just aren't many snaps up for grabs.

He still has some long-term intrigue, but as things stand he's merely extra depth in the Packers backfield.

Impact Dillon did not take a snap on offense until late in Sunday's game, but the Packers gave him a chance to stretch his legs on their final couple drives and he ended up with three more carries than he totaled in Week 1. Dillon is a distant fourth among Packers running backs in snaps played through two weeks, but he has made the most of his opportunities, averaging a respectable 4.4 YPC on his first seven rushing attempts as a pro.

Impact Dillon was drafted in the second round of April's draft, but it comes as little surprise that he does not occupy a prominent spot on the depth chart heading into Week 1, as both Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams remain on the Packers' roster. Dillon is not likely to be much of a factor in the offense early on, but he is the most powerful of the team's four running backs, so he could be used in short-yardage situations. His role could certainly expand during the season as he gets more familiar with his surroundings, and at just shy of 250 pounds, Dillon will not be much fun to try and bring down when winter weather rolls around.
