Impact The multi-time Pro Bowler shook off an extremely truncated preseason that was a byproduct of offseason ankle surgery to pace all pass catchers in receptions, targets and receiving yards. Cooper's elite route-running skills were on display throughout the night as he consistently got the best of the Buccaneers secondary, and his five- and 21-yard touchdown grabs both brought the Cowboys within less than a field goal of Tampa Bay. While Dallas ultimately fell just short, Cooper's performance and his clear return to full health are certainly encouraging for fantasy managers who invested some draft capital in him. The 27-year-old will aim to stay hot in a Week 2 road battle versus the Chargers on Sunday, Sept. 19.

Impact The 27-year-old saw his first action of the preseason and played the first quarter along with the rest of the Cowboys' offensive starters, and the fact the team was willing to use Cooper on a jet sweep is a strong sign he's fully recovered from his offseason ankle surgery. He also saw one target on the team's third drive that got wiped out by a penalty. Cooper may have to share the spotlight a little more in 2021 with second-year receiver CeeDee Lamb, but Cooper remains more than capable of a big campaign -- depending, of course, on the health of Dak Prescott (shoulder).

Impact Cooper opened training camp on the PUP list, the result of residual irritation from January ankle surgery. The Cowboys activated him last Tuesday, but Monday's session marked the first time he donned pads this summer. Per Jon Machota of The Athletic, Cooper proceeded to take part in individual drills, but it's very likely that he's easing into action to avoid any sort of setback.
