The veteran safety's two interceptions matched his total from a season ago, but an average of 2.1 tackles per game depleted his utility in IDP formats. He remained an integral defensive contributor by starting each time he was active this season, fielding an increased workload of 56.1 snaps per game after Damontae Kazee was placed on injured reserve Oct. 7 with a torn Achilles. The 29-year-old Allen remains under contract with Atlanta through 2021 at a cap hit of $8.4 million, as the organization prepares to welcome a new general manager.

Moving into 2021 with Falcons Abrams signed a reserve/futures contract with the Falcons on Monday, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Consitution reports.

Impact Abrams appeared in three games during his rookie season out of Colorado, totaling seven defensive snaps and 25 special-teams snaps without a tackle. He'll enter 2021 as a developmental defensive back for Atlanta, as the Falcons aim to improve upon a last-place finish in pass defense.

Atlanta found itself in a pass-heavy game script facing a significant halftime deficit, but Brian Hill and Todd Gurley still combined for 18 carries atop the Falcons backfield. Smith had been enjoying an uptick in usage in recent weeks, with double-digit carries over three of his five most recent outings entering Sunday. The 25-year-old closes out the year with 268 rushing yards and one TD over 63 attempts, adding 75 receiving yards on 17 catches. He's under contract with the Falcons for one more season at a cap hit of $1.1 million.

Impact Oluokun was a late addition to the NFC's Pro Bowl ballot, and one has to wonder why the 25-year-old wasn't included sooner. Though Oluokun ultimately was not given the nod for the annual distinction, he did break out with a career season consisting of a team-high 117 tackles, three sacks, four forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and a pair of interceptions. The Falcons may have found a defensive cornerstone in the Yale standout, who blossomed into an all-around contributor during his first full season as a starter. The 2018 sixth-round pick enters his final year under contract as the Falcons ready to usher in a new general manager.

Impact Acquired via a three-year, $48 million free agent contract last March, Fowler was brought on to complement Grady Jarrett (groin) and Takkarist McKinley (groin) in the Falcons' pass-rush. Things didn't go according to plan, however. Atlanta waived a disgruntled McKinley in November, while Fowler only generated three sacks over 14 games. The 26-year-old is under contract for one more season at a cap hit of $18.7 million, though there is a potential out in his deal prior to 2022. He's one year removed from an 11.5-sack output, but the 2015 No. 3 overall draft choice has averaged just 4.8 sacks per season in his other four active NFL campaigns.

Impact After playing in a lone game with the Falcons during the 2020 season, Schaub will end his NFL career. While the quarterback didn't end up throwing the ball during his solo game, he did manage to run three times for a loss of four yards. The 39-year-old has proven himself to be an effective quarterback throughout his performances with a handful of teams, and ended his career back where it began in 2004, with Atlanta. Kurt Benkert will likely take over Schaub's quarterback duties.
