James Proche II - Disappoints in 2022 Proche had eight catches on 17 targets for 62 yards and no touchdowns in 2022.

Impact It was a disappointing third season for Proche. The season began with Rashod Bateman and Devin Duvernay as the Ravens' top targets, but there was still room for Proche to carve out a role, and yet he was unable to do that. Bateman and Duvernay each suffered season-ending injuries at different points of the season, but it was Demarcus Robinson and Sammy Watkins who ultimately took on bigger roles. Proche remains under contract for one more season, but his inability to be involved in the offense despite all the attrition in the receiving corps this season does not portend well for his role in 2023 when Bateman and Duvernay are healthy.

Sammy Watkins - Topsy turvy 2022 season Watkins caught four of eight targets for 131 yards in four games with the Ravens in 2022.

Impact The veteran began the year in Green Bay but was released in December. He landed back in Baltimore for his second stint with the club and played an average of 29.8 snaps per game in that span. Overall, Watkins caught 27 of 49 targets for 394 yards and a touchdown, and his 8.0 YPT average was his best since 2018 while with the Chiefs. He was on a one-year deal prior to being released by the Packers and will likely hit free agency again this offseason. Watkins will be entering his age-30 season, and it's unlikely at this stage that he will be inked to a long-term deal at his next destination.

Josh Oliver - Sees role increase in 2022 Oliver caught 14 of 25 targets for 126 yards and two touchdowns in 2022.

Impact Oliver saw a role increase in his second year with Baltimore as he played nearly 500 snaps and recorded his first season with double-digit receptions despite the team bringing in two tight ends in the fourth round of the draft. Rookie Charlie Kolar being injured for much of the season helped Oliver carve out a bigger role, and he established himself as a useful blocker in Baltimore's run-heavy scheme. He's due to hit free agency this offseason, and with Mark Andrews already in the fold along with Baltimore's investments at tight end in the draft, it's possible he will be playing elsewhere in 2023.

Justice Hill - Posts career-best rushing totals Hill had two receptions for 10 yards in the Ravens' playoff loss to the Bengals on Sunday.

Impact The fourth-year back had his best professional season thus far by setting a new career high in rushing yards (262) and yards per carry (5.3). It was his first year back from an Achilles injury that wiped out his 2021 campaign. Baltimore had to mix and match at running back for much of the season with J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards both battling different injuries and workload restrictions, and Hill performed ably when called upon. Hill and fellow veteran Kenyan Drake will be unrestricted free agents this offseason, but the club could entertain bringing one of them back to serve as the third running back. If Hill does not return to the Ravens, he could still draw some interest from teams on the open market after performing well this season.

Shemar Bridges - Gets another deal from Baltimore The Ravens signed Bridges to a reserve/future contract Monday, Ryan Mink of the team's official site reports.

Impact Bridges signed with Baltimore as an undrafted free agent out of Fort Valley State in May, though he reverted to IR with an undisclosed issue before getting waived with an injury settlement in early September. The 6-foot-4 wideout then re-joined via the practice squad Nov. 30, finishing the season on this taxi squad without any elevations to the active roster. Bridges will now look for another chance to carve out a roster spot heading into the 2023 season.

Mike Thomas - Retained by Baltimore The Ravens signed Thomas to a reserve/future contract Monday, Ryan Mink of the team's official site reports.

Impact Thomas joined Baltimore's practice squad Dec. 20 almost exactly one month after he was waived by the Bengals. Over the past three years with Cincinnati, the 28-year-old caught 20 of 42 targets for 222 yards and a touchdown in 36 regular-season games. The veteran wideout never received an elevation from the Ravens' practice squad even though starting wideouts Rashod Bateman (foot) and Devin Duvernay (foot) both finished the season on IR. Thomas will likely try to work his way onto the active roster as a potential core special-teamer heading into the 2023 campaign.

Demarcus Robinson - Catches 41-yard TD in playoff loss Robinson caught two of three targets for 49 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-17 wild-card round loss to the Bengals.

Impact Robinson got behind the Cincinnati defense for a game-tying, 41-yard touchdown in the third quarter. After coming eight yards short of his career high with 458 in the regular season, Robinson added just his second touchdown in 14 career playoff games. The former Chiefs wide receiver will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

Gus Edwards - Gets 12 carries in playoff loss Edwards rushed 12 times for 39 yards and caught his only target for 13 yards in Sunday's 24-17 wild-card round loss to the Bengals.

Impact Edwards rotated with J.K. Dobbins, but the latter was far more effective on a per-touch basis, totaling 105 scrimmage yards and a touchdown on 17 touches. The Ravens were eliminated from the playoffs with this loss. Edwards has one more year left on his contract after rushing for 433 yards and three touchdowns in nine regular-season appearances.

Mark Andrews - Leading receiver in playoff exit Andrews caught five of 10 targets for 73 yards in Sunday's 24-17 wild-card round loss to the Bengals.

Impact Andrews unsurprisingly led the Ravens in targets, catches and receiving yards, but Baltimore was eliminated from the playoffs in a game that came down to an incomplete pass in the end zone on the final play. The 27-year-old tight end regressed from 1,361 yards and nine touchdowns in 2021 to just 847 yards and five touchdowns in the 2022 regular season, but Andrews remains the unquestioned top pass catcher in Baltimore's run-heavy offense heading into 2023.

J.K. Dobbins - Tops 100 scrimmage yards in loss Dobbins rushed 13 times for 62 yards while catching four of five targets for 43 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-17 wild-card round loss to the Bengals.

Impact Dobbins managed to stretch the ball over the goal line on his two-yard touchdown catch to get the Ravens on the board in the second quarter. He was also Baltimore's most effective option on the ground, finishing with one more carry than Gus Edwards and eight more rushing yards than quarterback Tyler Huntley. After two surgeries on his knee, Dobbins finally looks to have regained pre-injury form, which will make the 2020 second-round pick out of Ohio State an enticing fantasy option in 2023 as the lead back in a run-first Ravens offense that's likely to be quarterbacked by Lamar Jackson (knee).

Tyler Huntley - Comes up short in Cincinnati Huntley (shoulder/wrist) completed 17 of 29 passes for 226 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Bengals. He added nine carries for 54 yards and...

Impact Huntley was intercepted on Baltimore's first possession as the Ravens fell behind 9-0 early. Baltimore responded with a 17-play touchdown drive, on which Huntley showcased his dual-threat skill set. He extended the drive with a two-yard run to convert on 4th-and-1 before eventually throwing a two-yard touchdown pass to J.K. Dobbins. Huntley added a 41-yard touchdown pass to Demarcus Robinson in the third quarter to tie it 17-17, but that tie was broken in the fourth quarter when he had the ball knocked out of his hands less than a yard from the goal line and returned the length of the field for a Bengals touchdown. Though Huntley came up short in this one when his last-second Hail Mary bounced off James Proche's fingertips, the backup quarterback proved capable of keeping the Ravens competitive after Lamar Jackson's Week 13 knee injury. Baltimore's expected to bring both QBs back in free agency, and doing so with Huntley should be straightforward given that he's a restricted free agent.
