Impact After spending the 2020 campaign on injured reserve, Gillikin seems to be making a strong case to replace legendary Saints punter Thomas Morstead after hitting the ceiling of New Orleans' practice complex ten straight times during Thursday's practice.

Shifts to IR The Saints placed Gillikin (back) on injured reserve Wednesday, per the league's official transactions report.
Impact Gillikin made New Orleans' initial active roster, so he'll be eligible for activation from IR after a minimum of three weeks. In the meantime, Thomas Morstead will handle punting duties for the Saints.
