Myles Hartsfield - Out 8-to-12 weeks with wrist injury Coach Matt Rhule said Monday that Hartsfield (wrist) will miss 8-to-12 weeks, Steve Reed of the Associated Press reports.
Impact Hartsfield recorded two tackles in the season opener before going down with the injury. Missing at least half of the season is certainly a roadblock for the promising 24-year-old, but he will look to return at full strength in the second half of the year. In his absence, Sam Franklin and Sean Chandler will operate as primary backups for both safety positions.

Myles Hartsfield - Needs surgery on wrist Hartsfield will require surgery after injuring his wrist during Sunday's win over the Jets, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Impact The surgery is not expected to knock Hartsfield out for the season, and he is considered week-to-week. The 24-year-old recorded two tackles and one pass defensed during the season opener. He appeared in all 16 games for the Panthers as a rookie and started to see more defensive snaps towards the end of the season.

That marked just the second pick of Thompson's career, and with a sack Sunday he already beat his total in the category from last year. Fresh off a personal-best 113 tackles in 2020, Thompson kept his momentum going with a superb season debut, boosting his stock as a centerpiece of Carolina's defense.

Impact Thomas opened the third quarter with a long gain and actually played two more snaps than starter Dan Arnold, who managed just a pair of catches for six yards. Although Thomas isn't expected to be much of a factor in Carolina's passing game this season, occasional impact plays like Sunday's grab would keep him in the mix for spare looks.

Impact Arnold approached Week 1 with steady praise from his initial practices as a Panther, but the offseason addition didn't make much of an impact in his regular-season debut for Carolina. In fact, backup Ian Thomas finished with more yards than Arnold, picking up 17 on his lone reception Sunday. Following an underwhelming opening performance, it'll be interesting to see whether Arnold gets more involved in Week 2 versus the Saints, one of his former teams.

Terrace Marshall Jr. - Makes three grabs in debut Marshall caught three of six targets for 26 yards in Sunday's 19-14 win over the Jets.
Impact Marshall's regular-season debut saw him trail only Christian McCaffrey and DJ Moore in targets, including a couple looks in the red zone. The second-rounder's final stats weren't overly impressive, but after a standout preseason, it's good to see Marshall remain regularly involved now that the games matter. Although fellow wideout Robby Anderson will surely garner more than Sunday's three targets in most games, Marshall's status as Carolina's third wideout gives him decent value going into Week 2's divisional matchup versus the Saints.
