Going under knife Wentz will undergo surgery on his left foot Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Impact Before Wentz opted for the procedure, reports indicated that the quarterback would likely miss Week 1 -- and potentially a few more games -- if he underwent surgery. Now that a decision on surgery has been finalized, the Colts are putting Wentz's timeline at 5-to-12 weeks, a window so large that it isn't especially useful. Wentz can be considered doubtful for the start of the regular season, with the Colts not quite ready to rule him out even though they'll be preparing another quarterback for the Week 1 start. Jacob Eason has been taking first-team reps since Wentz hurt his foot last week, while recently signed Brett Hundley is the Colts' only healthy QB who has attempted a pass in a regular-season NFL game. It'll be an interesting August sans Wentz, who will be busy rehabbing from surgery to remove bone from the fifth metatarsal of his foot.
