Impact Jones was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday after he tested positive for the coronavirus. He hasn't recorded a sack since he had five in Week 1, but his absence nonetheless improves the matchup for Baker Mayfield and other parts of the Cleveland passing game. Jones ranks second in the NFL with 14 quarterback hits, trailing only Browns defensive end Myles Garrett (16).

Tests positive for virus The Cardinals placed Jones on the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday after he tested positive for the virus, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Impact If vaccinated, Jones would have a shot at making it back for Sunday's game in Cleveland, but the star edge rusher would first need to produce two negative test results at least 24 hours apart while exhibiting no symptoms of the virus. Since exploding for five sacks and two forced fumbles in the Cardinals' Week 1 win over the Titans, Jones has gone quiet. He's recorded no statistics in three of the subsequent four games while producing three tackles -- but no sacks -- and a fumble recovery in the other.
