Impact Allen was waived by the Bears in early August after he reached an injury settlement following an undisclosed injury, but he now appears healthy. The tight end appeared in one game with Chicago last season, and he'll likely have to settle for a practice squad spot if he latches on with Atlanta.

Staying in Chicago The Bears signed Allen to a reserve/future contract Monday, Larry Mayer of the team's official site reports.

Impact Allen joined the Bears as an undrafted free agent back in May of 2022, where he eventually spent all but one game of this past campaign on the team's practice squad. The 25-year-old is now slated to remain with Chicago throughout the offseason and compete for a spot on the Bears' active roster next year.

Elevated from practice squad Chicago elevated Allen to its active roster from the practice squad Friday ahead of Saturday's matchup against Buffalo, Larry Mayer of the Bears' official site reports.

Impact With Trevon Wesco (calf) out, Allen has been elevated from the practice squad and will be eligible to make his NFL debut in Week 16. The undrafted rookie out of Iowa State caught 62 of 94 targets for 687 yards and six touchdowns during his final three collegiate campaigns.
