Chase Claypool - Best game with Bears Claypool caught two passes for 51 yards in the Bears' 31-10 loss to the Jets on Sunday.
Impact Claypool led all Chicago wide receivers with five targets, and Trevor Siemian threw him a pair of downfield passes. On his 31-yard gain, Claypool beat standout cornerback Ahmad Gardner, but the Chicago offense struggled to move the ball from the middle of the second quarter on, limiting his potential for additional production. This was the first time in four games that Claypool posted more than 13 yards, and he's yet to become a reliable fantasy option with the Bears.

Darrynton Evans - Gets 10 touches in Week 12 loss Evans rushed nine times for 34 yards and caught his only target for 33 yards in Sunday's 31-10 loss to the Jets.
Impact Evans outraced C.J. Mosley around the corner for a 33-yard gain after catching a pass over the middle on Chicago's opening drive, but that was his only target, and the practice-squad elevation failed to get much going on the ground. After using Evans as the only change-of-pace option behind David Montgomery, the Bears will likely add Evans to the roster again for their Week 13 game against the Packers.

David Montgomery - Gets 17 touches in loss Montgomery rushed 14 times for 79 yards and caught three of four targets for 34 yards in Sunday's 31-10 loss to the Jets.
Impact Montgomery helped set up a field goal on the opening drive with a 26-yard catch and run. That was his biggest play on this slick Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium, but Montgomery churned out hard yards throughout to keep a Bears offense playing without Justin Fields (shoulder) in manageable third downs. Regardless of Fields' status for Week 13 against the Packers, Montgomery will be in line for plenty of touches.

Trevor Siemian - Struggles after hot start Siemian completed 14 of 25 passes for 179 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 31-10 loss to the Jets. He added eight yards on four rushing attempts.
Impact Siemian got off to a strong start, completing three of five passes for 62 yards on the opening drive to set up a 22-yard Cairo Santos field goal before adding another 58 passing yards on the following possession, including a four-yard touchdown pass to Byron Pringle to take a 10-7 lead. New York's defense woke up after that, holding Siemian and the Bears in check the rest of the way. His final pass was an interception on first and goal, after which the Jets ran out the final 5:04. If Justin Fields (shoulder) feels good enough to play against the Packers in Week 13, Siemian will be back on the bench, but keep in mind that Chicago could play it safe with the second-year starter's injury by having Fields sit out through the Bears' Week 14 bye.

The injury resulted in a cap on his practice reps Wednesday through Friday, but it wasn't enough to gain clearance for game action. Eberflus elaborated on the decision Sunday, telling Cronin that Fields "did not have the strength to protect himself in the game properly and perform the way he wanted to perform." Fields may not need to log a full practice during Week 13 prep in order to suit up next weekend, but it would help his case as he seeks to return to action. Working in place of Fields this Sunday, Trevor Siemian completed 14 of 25 passes for 179 yards, one touchdown and one interception and recorded four carries for eight yards.

Impact On the first play of the Bears' second drive of the third quarter, Mooney stayed on the turf for a spell as he was tended to by team trainers. He then wasn't able to put any weight on his left leg as he was assisted to the locker room. The nature of the issue is unknown, but Chicago may have to go with Equanimeous St. Brown, Chase Claypool, Dante Pettis, Byron Pringle and Velus Jones at wide receiver for the rest of Week 12.

Siemian's most recent extended action occurred last year with the Saints, when he completed 57 percent of his passes for 1,154 yards, 11 touchdowns and three interceptions while taking nine carries for 20 yards and another score in six appearances (four starts).

Impact When Fields was seen wincing and grabbing at his left, non-throwing shoulder near the end of last Sunday's loss in Atlanta, the table was set for the biggest fantasy question mark of Week 12 considering his production over the last six games (963 yards and 10 TDs through the air, 640 yards and six more TDs on the ground). On Wednesday, he revealed the extent of his injury, saying he was tending to a separated shoulder with partially torn ligaments. He still managed limited practices all week, and his availability came down to a game-time decision. Ultimately, though, the Bears will exercise caution and give Fields the week off, allowing Trevor Siemian to direct the offense and practice-squad call-up Nathan Peterman to serve as his backup. Fields will turn his attention to getting healthy enough to play Sunday, Dec. 4 versus the Packers.

Impact Before making an official call on Fields' status when it releases its Week 12 inactive list 90 minutes before the 1 p.m. ET kickoff, Chicago will give Fields an opportunity to warm up early Sunday as he attempts to prove his health. However, after Fields was limited in practices all week due to what's been described as an AC joint sprain in his non-throwing shoulder, the second-year signal-caller is considered a "long shot" to play, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The Bears seemingly telegraphed Fields' expected absence by elevating Nathan Peterman from the practice squad Saturday, with Peterman likely to serve as Siemian's backup. Siemian has made only one appearance off the bench in 2022, but the 30-year-old has previously picked up 29 starts since entering the NFL in 2015. Four of those starts came last season with the Saints, with Siemian completing 83 of 144 attempts (57.6 percent) for 924 yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions in those outings. For as long as the game plan allows for it Sunday, expect the Bears to adopt a more conservative offensive approach under Siemian, who could struggle to help Chicago continue their streak of four consecutive games with at least 24 points.
