Impact Head coach Matt Eberflus told reporters Friday that Jenkins has been progressing throughout the week, so it sounds as if he could be a game-time decision in Week 5, per Scott Bair of Marquee Sports Network. If Jenkins is unable to suit up in Week 5, expect Bill Murray to serve as the Bears' top left guard.

Terell Smith - Ruled out for Week 5 Smith (hip) has been Scott Bair of Marquee Sports Network ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Panthers.

Impact Smith didn't practice all week after missing the Bears' Week 4 win over the Rams due to a hip injury, so it's no surprise that he won't play in Sunday's contest. With Smith sidelined for another week, expect Jaylon Jones to continue seeing increased work as a rotational outside cornerback.

Impact Pickens is now in line to miss his third consecutive game Sunday as he continues to recover from the groin injury sustained during the Bears' Week 2 loss to the Texans. With Pickens sidelined Sunday, Chris Williams projects to serve as Chicago's lone reserve interior defensive lineman.

However, his status for Sunday's game against the Panthers remains in question. If he's unable to play, the team may have Velus Jones active for the first time since Week 1 to handle return duties in the kicking game.

Impact Kmet showed up on the Bears' first Week 5 practice report Wednesday as limited due to a knee injury, but he was able to handle a full allotment of reps one day later, effectively clearing him ahead of Sunday's game against the Panthers. Aside from a 10-97-1 showing on 11 targets Week 3 at Indianapolis, he's combined for eight catches (on nine targets) for 65 yards and no touchdowns in his other three outings this season.

He's back to a near-every-down role after opening the season in a timeshare with Gerald Everett, and while a knee injury may limit Kmet's practice participation this week, his ability to do some work Wednesday suggests he's on track to play this Sunday against the Panthers.

Impact Jenkins left Sunday's win over the Rams due to a ribs injury, so it's no surprise that the 2021 second-round pick won't practice Wednesday. His participation Thursday and Friday will provide a better indication of his potential availability in Week 5, as the Bears host the Panthers.
