Jack Sanborn - Surprises with big game Sanborn tallied eight tackles in the Bears' 30-13 loss to the Chargers on Sunday.
Impact Sanborn saw an elevated snap count when Tremaine Edmunds (knee) left the contest early. As became evident when Chicago traded away Roquan Smith last year, if Sanborn has to step in for Edmunds for any period of time, he'll be an instant starting IDP capable of churning out double-digit tackles in any given start.

Tyrique Stevenson - Huge performance in loss Stevenson recorded 12 tackles in the Bears' 30-13 loss to the Chargers on Sunday.
Impact Stevenson has been an inconsistent fantasy performer. He has three games with four or fewer stops, but he has a pair of games with at least nine tackles. Part of the issue is that when Chicago faces teams that have success on the ground, it limits Stevenson's opportunities to accumulate tackles. In this game, Justin Herbert threw 40 passes, which correlates to Stevenson's productive game. He'll likely remain a boom-or-bust weekly IDP option this season.

T.J. Edwards - Leads team in tackles Edwards tallied 13 stops in the Bears' 30-13 loss to the Chargers on Sunday.
Impact Edwards was coming off a two-tackle performance in Week 7, but he quickly returned to his customary level of production. He has at least eight tackles in all but one game, and he remains an elite weekly IDP.

Impact Jones has yet to play more than 12 percent of the offensive snaps in any game, and he has just 31 scrimmage yards on the season. His best value is in leagues that award points for return yardage, as Jones has been seeing increased use as a kickoff returner since Week 6.

Impact Scott has played 58 percent of Chicago's snaps over the last three games, though he's yet to post 20 yards in any contest. The increased usage is promising, but until his production follows, he may not be a reliable fantasy option.

Darrynton Evans - Scores touchdown in losing effort Evans rushed four times for 18 yards and a touchdown while catching three passes for 22 yards in the Bears' 30-13 loss to the Chargers on Sunday.
Impact Evans had the most yards among the three Chicago running backs despite having fewer touches than D'Onta Foreman and Roschon Johnson. It seems likely that Evans will remain in the backfield rotation until Khalil Herbert (ankle) returns from injured reserve, which could be as soon as Week 10.

Darnell Mooney - Catches long pass Mooney caught one of four targets for 41 yards in the Bears' 30-13 loss to the Chargers on Sunday. He added three rushing yards on one carry.
Impact Mooney hauled in a deep pass in the first quarter but was unable to secure any of his three other targets. He has posted between 32 and 53 yards in five games but was shut out in the other three contests. For now, he's a low-floor, low-upside fantasy option in an erratic Chicago passing attack.

D'Onta Foreman - Leads Chicago with nine carries Foreman rushed nine times for 34 yards and caught one of his two targets for two yards in Sunday's 30-13 loss to the Chargers.
Impact Foreman was coming off a massive three-TD performance against the Raiders, but that didn't seem to earn the veteran any extra work against the Chargers, as he split carries almost evenly with Roschon Johnson (nine touches for 31 yards), who sat out that Week 7 game with a concussion. Predictably, neither back generated noteworthy fantasy lines in their smaller, shared roles. This figures to be the case again Sunday against the Saints barring any unforeseen roster moves, and Khalil Herbert (ankle) could be back in the mix as well as soon as Week 10.

Roschon Johnson - Splits backfield work Sunday Johnson took six carries for 21 yards while catching three of four targets for 10 yards in Sunday's 30-13 loss to the Chargers.
Impact Johnson was able to pass the league's concussion protocol in time to suit up for Sunday's matchup against the Chargers. The 22-year-old wound up splitting touches with D'Onta Foreman, with neither player standing out in the box score. Both backs could struggle to develop consistent value due to fluctuating usage from an indecisive coaching staff trying to salvage a season that is clearly heading the wrong direction, and that's before the eventual return of Khalil Herbert (ankle) gets factored in. For now, assume another roughly even split between Johnson and Foreman against the Saints in Week 9.

Cole Kmet - Corrals all 10 targets on SNF Kmet brought in all 10 of his targets for 79 yards in Sunday's 30-13 loss to the Chargers.
Impact Kmet turned out to be one of the few bright spots for Chicago's offense in a game that understandably got out of hand for a rebuilding team that was starting an undrafted free agent under center. The tight end set new high-water marks in both targets and receptions Sunday after being held catchless in last week's win over Las Vegas. Kmet still owns a solid 35-319-3 receiving line through eight games with Chicago this year despite having inconsistent play under center. The tight end's fantasy value should receive a shot in the arm when starter Justin Fields returns from injury, with the next opportunity for that scenario coming against New Orleans in Week 9.

If not, Bagent figures to be the logical option to start against New Orleans, with infamous backup Nathan Peterman being the only other option on the roster should Fields sit out.
