Inks future deal with Kansas City The Chiefs signed Oladokun to a reserve/future contract Tuesday, Charles Goldman of A to Z sports reports.

Impact After failing to make the Chiefs' 53-man roster at the end of training camp, Oladokun was invited back by Kansas City in mid-October to serve on the practice squad. He was elevated for Week 18 against the Broncos to serve as the backup quarterback behind Carson Wentz while Patrick Mahomes rested. Oladokun will participate in OTAs, minicamp and training camp to earn a spot as the Chiefs' No. 2 quarterback behind Mahomes for the 2025 campaign.

Reverts to practice squad Oladokun reverted to Kansas City's practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Impact Oladokun was elevated for Week 18 against Denver with Patrick Mahomes (ankle) given the day off to rest. Oladokun served as the No. 2 quarterback in the contest behind Carson Wentz and logged five offensive snaps, carrying once for five yards and taking a six-yard loss on a sack. Mahomes will almost certainly be back in action when Kansas City plays its next game in the AFC divisional round, so Oladokun isn't expected to be active for that contest.

Impact Patrick Mahomes (ankle) isn't expected to play Sunday against Denver with Kansas City having wrapped up the AFC's No. 1 playoff seed, so the Chiefs are likely to deploy Oladokun as their backup QB behind Carson Wentz. Oladokun has yet to see action in an NFL game, and he's spent the last two yeas with Kansas City's practice squad. He probably won't see much, if any, action Sunday unless Wentz is forced to exit the contest.
