Impact Jones was facing the deadline of his 21-day practice window's expiration Wednesday, being added to the active roster in the nick of time. He'll likely operate as a top reserve option behind Paris Johnson and Kelvin Beachum (groin) at offensive tackle in Week 8 versus the Dolphins.

Impact Jones has spent the mandatory minimum of four games on injured reserve, and will now have his 21-day window to practice with the team opened. However, he will need to be added to the 53-man roster before he can play, which due to the time he has missed, may not be Sunday against the 49ers.

Opening season on IR Jones (ankle) was placed on injured reserve with a designation to return by the Cardinals on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Impact Jones appears to have picked up an ankle injury during the preseason with Arizona and he'll now be forced to miss at least the first four games of the regular season. The offensive tackle is first eligible to return in Week 5 against the 49ers on Oct. 6.
