INJURIES

Logs one catch in win Kirk caught one of three targets for six yards in Sunday's 20-10 win over the Chiefs in Week 14.
Impact Kirk was limited to six or fewer yards for the fourth time in the last five games. Brought in to be a No. 2 wideout, the eight-year veteran has fallen behind rookie Jayden Higgins in terms of playing time and targets.

Texans hit the road as they try to cut into Colts' division lead and get back in playoff mix

The Houston Texans have won three straight thanks largely to a suffocating defense that increasingly has been cranking up the pressure on quarterbacks
NOVEMBER 26 • Associated Press
Records TD in Week 12 win Kirk brought in five of six targets for 54 yards and a touchdown in the Texans' 23-19 win over the Bills on Thursday night.
Impact Kirk recorded a team-high catch total while finishing second in receiving yards and targets. The veteran also posted a team-high 33-yard reception, and he recorded his first touchdown of the season on a two-yard grab late in the first half. Kirk has battled injury and game-to-game volatility with regards to his production, but he should remain busy in a Week 13 road matchup against the Colts during which he should be catching passes from C.J. Stroud (concussion).
NOVEMBER 21 • ROTOWIRE
Another quiet outing Kirk secured one of four targets for six yards in Sunday's 16-13 win over Tennessee in Week 11.
Impact Since returning from a second hamstring injury this season, Kirk has caught just six of 15 targets for a quiet 35 yards over three games. He was expected to be the No. 2 behind Nico Collins, but rookie Jayden Higgins (seven targets, four catches, 55 yards) surpassed Kirk for a second straight week. Over six games, Kirk has 16 catches on 31 targets for 144 yards and zero touchdowns.

Texans avoid another tough loss with an improbable comeback against Jaguars

Down by 19 entering the fourth quarter Sunday against Jacksonville, the Houston Texans looked to be headed for another tough loss
NOVEMBER 10 • Associated Press
Quiet day in win Kirk caught one of three targets for three yards in Sunday's 36-29 win over Jacksonville in Week 10.
Impact Kirk had a subdued effort in the win and his 32 snaps were fewer than rookie Jayden Higgins, who had seven targets, five catches and a red-zone touchdown on 43 snaps. Houston's other rookie wideout, Jaylin Noel (four targets, four catches, 35 yards), also outproduced Kirk over 25 snaps. It's been an unremarkable first season with the Texans for Kirk, who missed four games with a pair of hamstring injuries. He's yet to find the end zone while failing to record more than 26 yards in four of the five games played.

Snags four passes in return Kirk caught four of eight targets for 26 yards in Sunday's 18-15 loss to the Broncos.
Impact The veteran slot receiver saw his first action since Week 5 after recovering from a hamstring strain, and Kirk finished second on the Texans in targets while catching passes from both C.J. Stroud (concussion) and Davis Mills. The volume is encouraging, and Kirk has caught at least three receptions in all four games he's been healthy enough to play in this season. He'll still be a much less appealing fantasy option, even in PPR formats, if Stroud ends up sitting out a Week 10 contest against the Jaguars.
NOVEMBER 2 • ROTOWIRE
Ready to return Week 9 Kirk (hamstring) logged full practice Friday and carries no injury designation heading into Sunday's game against the Broncos.
Impact Both Kirk and Nico Collins (concussion) were full participants Friday and enter Week 9 with no designation. Kirk missed the last two games and four overall this season due to a balky hamstring. That's limited him to 10 catches, 109 yards and zero touchdowns over three games.
NOVEMBER 1 • ROTOWIRE
Turns in full practice Kirk (hamstring) was a full practice participant Thursday.
Impact With a full session in tow, Kirk appears set to put an end to a two-game absence this Sunday versus the Broncos. Aside from Tank Dell (knee), the Texans project to have all of their key receivers available for the Week 9 matchup, as Nico Collins remains in concussion protocol but is trending toward getting cleared after joining Kirk as a full practice participant Thursday. Over three appearances with the Texans this season, Kirk has put together a 10-109-0 receiving line on 16 targets.

Texans' top-rated defense faces high-scoring Broncos in a crucial matchup

The Denver Broncos will try to extend their winning streak to six games when they visit the Houston Texans on Sunday
OCTOBER 30 • Associated Press
Limited in practice Kirk (hamstring) was a limited practice participant Wednesday.
Impact The same goes for Nico Collins, who also returned to practice after missing all of last week. Collins is still in concussion protocol but reportedly on track to gain clearance, which means Houston's WR room could be at full strength this Sunday against Denver. It remains to be seen if Collins and/or Kirk will progress to full practice participation Thursday.

Back at practice Kirk (hamstring) and Nico Collins (concussion) returned to practice Wednesday, DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.com reports.
Impact The Texans may have their receiving corps back at full strength this Sunday against the Broncos, facing a defense that leads the league in sacks but will now be playing without reigning DPOY Patrick Surtain (pectoral). With Kirk and Collins absent last week, the Texans got solid showings from all of Jaylin Noel, Jayden Higgins and Xavier Hutchinson in a win over the 49ers.
OCTOBER 29 • ROTOWIRE
Won't play this week Kirk (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against San Francisco, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Impact With Nico Collins (concussion) and Kirk both ruled out, the Texans are left with Xavier Hutchinson, Jayden Higgins, Jaylin Noel and Braxton Berrios as the favorites for playing time at wide receiver. Noel made a splash last week with four catches for 77 yards on seven targets in a 27-19 loss at Seattle, but that doesn't necessarily mean he'll be the main beneficiary in terms of playing time this week. Kirk, meanwhile, has now missed Weeks 1, 2, 7 and 8 with hamstring injuries.
OCTOBER 24 • ROTOWIRE
Third straight DNP on Friday Kirk (hamstring) remains a non-participant in practice Friday, DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Kirk and Nico Collins (concussion) haven't practiced all week. Both wide receivers will presumably be ruled out for Sunday's game against the 49ers, though official confirmation won't come until the Texans release their injury report later Friday.

Houston's Ryans faces former boss San Francisco's Shanahan for 1st time when Texans host Niners

Houston coach DeMeco Ryans will face his former boss San Francisco coach Kyle Shanahan for the first time Sunday when the Texans host the 49ers
OCTOBER 23 • Associated Press
Another DNP on Thursday Kirk (hamstring) isn't practicing Thursday, DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Kirk remains sidelined by the hamstring injury he aggravated prior to Monday's loss to Seattle. Nico Collins (concussion) has also started Week 8 prep with back-to-ack DNP designations, so rookies Jaylin Noel and Jayden Higgins could be set for expanded roles Sunday against the 49ers, along with Xaiver Hutchinson and Braxton Barrios.
OCTOBER 23 • ROTOWIRE
No return to practice Kirk (hamstring) isn't practicing Wednesday, DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN.com reports.
Impact A mid-week addition to the Week 7 injury report, Kirk was ruled out Saturday for Monday's eventual loss to Seattle (in which No. 1 receiver Nico Collins suffered a concussion). Houston may now be without both Kirk and Collins this Sunday against the 49ers, which would leave more routes/targets for some combination of Xavier Hutchinson, Jayden Higgins, Jaylin Noel and Braxton Berrios.
