With Christian McCaffrey out of town, Hubbard and D'Onta Foreman are the top candidates for touches out of the Panthers backfield. Whether or not Hubbard can wrest a bigger share of the reps away from Foreman remains to be seen, but Hubbard has reeled off 6.5 YPC on his 15 rushes this season without the benefit of a 20-plus yard run, so he could make a decent impact with a modest workload.

Impact Hubbard has missed the Panthers' last two games due to an ankle injury, so he's no lock to return to action Thursday night against the Falcons. However, Tuesday's practice should provide added context on that front, and if Hubbard is able to return to action in Week 10, he'd bolster a Carolina backfield that has been paced by D'Onta Foreman of late following the team's trade of Christian McCaffrey to the 49ers.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Sunday that Hubbard could've kept playing in Sunday's win over the Bucs if he'd been needed, but the Panthers had an 18-point lead at the time of his ankle injury and kept the second-year RB sidelined for the rest of the afternoon.
