Impact Awuzie will need to clear all protocols related to COVID-19 before returning to team facilities, but with the Bengals on bye Week 10, he will have plenty of additional time before Nov. 21's contest against the Raiders. In his two most recent appearances, Awuzie has handled 95-plus percent of defensive snaps.

Samaje Perine - Resurfaces in running attack Perine carried five times for 20 yards and caught two of three targets for 17 yards Sunday in the Bengals' 41-16 loss to the Browns.
Impact After Joe Mixon handled all the running-back carries in the Week 8 loss to the Jets, Perine re-entered the picture Week 9, though three of his totes came with fewer than five minutes remaining while the Browns sat on a 25-point lead. With that in mind, Perine's usage on the ground looks like it could take a hit or disappear entirely in more competitive contests, though the 26-year-old may still have an edge on Mixon for work on obvious passing downs. Perine was on the field for 11 of the Bengals' 13 third-down snaps against Cleveland, after playing eight of 10 in Week 8.

Chris Evans - Light role in return Evans (hamstring) played three of the Bengals' 70 offensive snaps and hauled in his lone target for an 11-yard gain in Sunday's 41-16 loss to the Browns.
Impact While he battled a hamstring injury, Evans was limited strictly to special-teams duty Week 7 against the Ravens before the Bengals opted to keep him inactive Week 8 against the Jets. Evans was listed as questionable heading into Sunday's contest, but the coaching staff felt comfortable enough with his health to keep him active and give him a role on offense, albeit a minor one. The rookie sixth-round pick appeared to make a push for more passing-down work in mid-October, but his hamstring injury coupled with Samaje Perine's return from the reserve/COVID-19 list and Joe Mixon's improved health has Evans trending down heading into the Bengals' Week 10 bye.

Mike Thomas - Nabs first reception since Week 4 Thomas played nine of the Bengals' 70 offensive snaps in Sunday's 41-16 loss to the Browns and caught his lone target for a 16-yard gain.
Impact The reception was Thomas' first since Week 4, as he was sidelined with an ankle injury from Weeks 5 through 7 before failing to draw a target in his return to the lineup Week 8 against the Jets. While all of Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd are healthy, Thomas is expected to handle a minor role in the passing attack and rotate in only when one of the three starters needs a breather.

Brandon Allen - Gets garbage-time reps Allen played six snaps and completed one of two pass attempts for six yards Sunday in the Bengals' 41-16 loss to the Browns.
Impact Though starter Joe Burrow has stayed healthy this season, Allen has still gotten the opportunity to play in three of the last four games, with all of his appearances coming in garbage-time scenarios. Unlike the prior two occasions, the Bengals were on the wrong side of the blowout this time around, and Allen was merely getting reps to spare Burrow further beating after he took five sacks earlier in the contest.

Drew Sample - Most productive outing of season Sample logged three receptions for 36 yards on three targets Sunday in the Bengals' 41-16 loss to the Browns.
Impact After falling behind by two touchdowns at halftime and by 24 points after three quarters, the Bengals were forced to abandon the run. As a result, Sample and fellow tight end C.J. Uzomah (five targets) had fewer blocking responsibilities and were more involved as route runners than usual. The four targets were a season-high total for Sample, who hadn't drawn a look in the passing game in either of the Bengals' prior two contests.

Tyler Boyd - Another unproductive day Boyd hauled in one of two targets for an 11-yard reception Sunday in the Bengals' 41-16 loss to the Browns.
Impact Even with the Bengals dialing up almost twice as many pass plays (47) as run plays (23), Boyd still ranked a distant third in targets among Cincinnati's starting wideout group. Youngsters Ja'Marr Chase (13 targets) and Tee Higgins (eight) have clearly surpassed Boyd in the pass-catching hierarchy, and even in a splashy offense, there doesn't seem to be enough volume to go around to make Boyd a reliable weekly fantasy option. He hasn't drawn more than eight targets in any of Cincinnati's last five games, cobbling together a modest 15-150-1 receiving line during that stretch.
