Impact Beathard was carted off the field during an early June minicamp practice, and has been out or limited since. The 28-year-old was considered the favorite to back up Trevor Lawrence, and he'll now work to regain any lost ground to Jake Luton and Kyle Sloter on those expectations, if any.

Impact Beathard is still recovering from a groin injury suffered in minicamp. The 28-year-old has been limited in practice and isn't quite ready to take the field yet. With Trevor Lawrence also getting the night off , Jake Luton will get the starting nod.

Impact Beathard suffered the injury during practice in early June. The injury was severe enough for him to be carted off the field, but he was expected to be available for training camp. Although he is participating, it appears that he is still currently limited by the injury. Beathard is supposed to serve as Trevor Lawrence's backup, although the extra snaps with the offense for Jake Luton and Kyle Sloter could be a detriment to those expectations.
