Two misses in two-point loss York missed both of his field-goal attempts and converted all four extra-point kicks in Sunday's 30-28 loss to the Chargers in Week 5.
Impact York pushed a 45-yarder wide right at the end of the first half, then he went wide right from 54 yards with 11 seconds left in the game. He made quite the splash in training camp, preseason games and when he nailed a 58-yarder in Week 1 for the win, but the love he's felt may be waning. Since that Week 1 game-winner, York has missed two extra-point tries, and Week 5's two missed field goals stood out in a two-point loss. There was more beyond the missed kicks that contributed to Sunday's loss, but the rookie placekicker should feel some heat this week.

Handles return chores Rogers returned three kickoffs for 64 yards and did not generate a punt return in Sunday's 30-28 loss to the Chargers in Week 5.
Impact The Browns turned to Rogers, elevated from the practice squad, to return both punts and kickoffs Sunday after Jerome Ford was placed on injured reserve. Demetric Felton was inactive, and the team continues to avoid using D'Ernest Johnson as a returner. Rogers was elevated to the active roster for a second time but has yet to play on offense.

Impact The target was the first since Week 1 for Schwartz, who played a season low eight snaps on offense. The 2021 third-round pick has yet to make an impact and has apparently fallen out of favor.

Impact Bryant battled an illness during the week but was on the field for 57 percent of the offensive snaps. It's unlikely the illness had any impact on his targets. The second-string tight end has caught nine of 15 targets for 81 yards and has yet to score in 2022. Week 5 saw the introduction of newly signed tight end Pharaoh Brown, whose presence could eventually eat into Bryant's playing time. Brown played just two snaps Sunday.

Impact Brown, who was signed earlier in the week, was actually listed as a starter, but the newest member of the team had little impact. As the season advances, it's likely Brown will get more on-field work, but he's considered primarily a blocking tight end, while David Njoku is the pass-catching threat at the position. Njoku has turned into the offensive force the organization thought it was getting when he was drafted in the first round of 2017.

Catches lone target in loss Bell caught his only target for six yards in Sunday's 30-28 loss to the Chargers in Week 5.
Impact Bell was targeted for the fourth straight game, but his six total targets are well behind Amari Cooper (43) and Donovan Peoples-Jones (31) through five games. The bright side is that for the first time this season, Cleveland finished with more passing attempts than carries. If that trend continues, Bell could get more targets. Of course, the Browns would prefer to lean on the backfield duo of Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt, but other factors -- primarily a leaky defense but also curious play calling -- have altered game plans.

Impact Peoples-Jones has yet to score a touchdown in 2022, but he's been heavily targeted through five weeks. Sunday was the third time with at least seven targets, and his 31 looks are second only to Amari Cooper (43). The Browns began the season as a run-dominant operation, but Week 5 was the first time Cleveland threw more (34) than it ran (31).

Looking to fix their defense, the Cleveland Browns acquired former Pro Bowl linebacker Deion Jones in a trade with the Atlanta Falcons

Dealt to Cleveland Jones and a 2024 seventh-round pick were traded from the Falcons to the Browns on Sunday in exchange for a 2024 sixth-round pick, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Impact Jones had a setback with his offseason shoulder surgery during the preseason and was forced to begin the year on injured reserve, but he'll be eligible to return as soon as he's healthy. The 27-year-old spent the first six years of his career in Atlanta, and he racked up 137 tackles (87 solo), including two sacks, a forced fumble and six pass defenses over 16 games in 2021.

Generates 57 total yards in loss Hunt rushed 11 times for 47 yards with one touchdown and brought in all three targets for 10 yards in the Browns' 30-28 loss to the Chargers on Sunday.
Impact Hunt filled his usual complementary role alongside Nick Chubb and was effective with it, scoring his second rushing touchdown of the season on a two-yard run late in the third quarter. The veteran has double-digit carries and receptions in every game thus far, but the fact he's typically capped under 15 carries limits his upside somewhat. Hunt's next opportunity to add to his solid start to the season comes in a Week 6 home battle against the Patriots.

Team-high receiving yards in loss Njoku brought in all six targets for 88 yards in the Browns' 30-28 loss to the Chargers on Sunday.
Impact Njoku's yardage total led the Browns, and he checked in second in receptions to Amari Cooper. The athletic tight end is demonstrating excellent chemistry with Jacoby Brissett, now recording at least five receptions and 73 yards in each of the last three games. Njoku is averaging seven targets a game over the last four contests as well, sending him into a Week 6 home matchup against the Patriots with plenty of momentum.

Comes up short in Week 5 loss Brissett completed 21 of 34 passes for 230 yards with one touchdown and one interception and rushed three times for 32 yards in the Browns' 30-28 loss to the Chargers on Sunday.
Impact Brissett turned in yet another serviceable stat line, but after helping lead an 11-play, 75-yard touchdown drive, he threw an interception in the end zone on the Browns' penultimate possession and then threw back-to-back incompletions on Cleveland's final march, which forced a difficult 54-yard field-goal attempt for rookie Cade York that sailed wide right. Brissett did show excellent chemistry with Amari Cooper and David Njoku, who were on the receiving end of 13 of his completions, 164 of his yards and his one touchdown pass (Cooper). Brissett has come up short at some key moments thus far in his starting tenure, but he should be able to once again keep his team competitive in a Week 6 home matchup versus his old Patriots squad.

Impact The veteran wideout logged a team-high reception and target total while also pacing the receivers corps in yardage. Cooper had turned in a one-catch, nine-yard clunker on four targets in Week 4 against the Falcons, so his resurgence Sunday was an especially welcome sight and included his third double-digit target tally of the campaign. Cooper's next opportunity to continue improving his already impressive chemistry with Jacoby Brissett comes in a Week 6 home matchup against the Patriots.

Another stellar performance in loss Chubb rushed 17 times for 134 yards and two touchdowns and didn't secure his only target in the Browns' 30-28 loss to the Chargers on Sunday.
Impact Chubb had an elite matchup on paper against a porous Chargers run defense, that very much bore out on the field. The star back ripped off a 41-yard touchdown run to kickstart his afternoon and cap off the opening possession of the game, and he went on to add a two-yard score late in the third quarter. Along the way, Chubb averaged 7.9 yards per carry while authoring his fourth 100-yard tally in the last five games, and he'll next take aim at the Patriots in Week 6 home clash.

Suffers concussion Sunday Ward was ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game vesus the Chargers with a concussion, Anthony Poisal of the Browns' official site reports.
Impact Ward entered concussion protocol after exiting Sunday's contest, leaving his status up in the air for next week's contest against New England. The Pro Bowl cornerback recorded a team-leading 10 tackles before being ruled out for this Week 5 contest, and his absence will leave Cleveland's secondary under-manned with Greedy Williams (hamstring) still out on IR. As a result, expect A.J. Green and Martin Emerson to step up into bigger roles against the Chargers' dangerous passing offense.
