James Hudson III - Placed on injured reserve Cleveland placed Hudson (shoulder) on IR on Saturday, Kelsey Russo of the Browns' official site reports.
Impact Cleveland coach Kevin Stefanski hinted that this move could be coming last week when it was revealed that Hudson had aggravated a shoulder injury and would miss Week 5 against Washington. With his move to IR now official, Hudson will need to miss the Browns' next four contests and isn't eligible to return until Nov. 17.

Maurice Hurst II - Taken off IR The Browns activated Hurst (ankle) off injured reserve Saturday, Kelsey Russo of the Browns' official site reports.
Impact Hurst hurt his ankle Week 1 against Dallas and was subsequently placed on injured reserve. He's since missed the required four games and had his practice window opened this past Wednesday. Hurst still carries a designation of questionable heading into Sunday, but he has a good chance of playing versus the Eagles after logging an LP/LP/FP practice progression this week.

Mike Hall Jr. - Reinstated for Week 6 Cleveland activated Hall (suspension) on Saturday, Kelsey Russo of the Browns' official site reports.
Impact Hall missed the first five games of the campaign as a result of an NFL suspension for violating the league's personal conduct policy. The defensive lineman is now finished with that punishment and appears to be in line to make his NFL debut Sunday. Hall, who was selected in the second round of April's NFL Draft, will likely play a rotational role along the Browns' defensive line.

Mohamoud Diabate - Activated off injured reserve The Browns activated Diabate (hip) off IR on Saturday, Kelsey Russo of the Browns' official site reports.
Impact Diabate hurt his hip Week 1 against Dallas and was subsequently placed on IR. He was designated to return this past Wednesday and logged a limited practice both Wednesday and Thursday before recording a full session Friday. Diabate thus seems set to return Sunday versus Philadelphia, which could be an important development for the Browns since Jordan Hicks is questionable for the contest -- and may not play a full slate of snaps if he does suit up -- due to an elbow injury.

Jaelon Darden - Gets elevated for Week 6 Cleveland elevated Darden from its practice squad ahead of Sunday's game at Philadelphia, Kelsey Russo of the Browns' official site reports.
Impact Darden will be available for the Browns for the second time this season at the Eagles. In his first outing in Week 1 versus the Cowboys, he returned five punts for 72 yards and four kickoffs for 97 yards.

Jordan Akins - Resumes backup role Akins will be the top backup in Sunday's game against the Eagles, as starter David Njoku (knee, ankle) no longer has an injury designation on the Browns injury report.
Impact Njoku, who aggravated an ankle injury and sustained a knee injury last week and has yet to play a complete game in 2024, will resume his normal role as Cleveland's top tight end. When Njoku's been unavailable, Akins has been forced into a larger role, including that of the top tight end in three of five games thus far. Akins has 12 catches on 17 targets for 98 yards and a touchdown.

Jerome Ford - Trending to lead role Week 6 Ford is expected to maintain the lead backfield role Week 6 against Philadelphia, as both Nick Chubb (knee) and Nyheim Hines (knee) are ruled out on the Browns' injury report.
Impact Ford will top the backfield for a sixth consecutive game, but it hasn't gone well for him or the Browns. He's gained a healthy 5.2 yards per carry, but has fewer than 10 carries per game and one touchdown. The team's play caller -- head coach Kevin Stefanski -- has led a game plan thus far that tilted toward the passing game, and the results aren't pretty. Perhaps the coach will shift focus, leaning on Ford and the ground game, against the league's 20th ranked rushing defense (128.8 yards per game).

Impact Garrett upgraded from a DNP on Wednesday to a full practice Friday, indicating that he will continue playing through his Achilles injury in Week 6. The 2023 Defensive Player of the Year has recorded nine total tackles, including 4.0 sacks, and forced two fumbles through the Browns' first five games this season. He's expected to cause problems for the Eagles' offensive line Sunday.
