Tending to elbow injury McCoy was a limited participant at Wednesday's walk-through practice due to a right elbow injury, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact In his first start in place of Kyler Murray (hamstring) in Week 10, McCoy picked up a left knee issue. He overcame that injury and drew another start in Monday's loss to the 49ers in Mexico City, only to pick up a new health concern coming out of that game. Murray seemingly is in line to be available Sunday against the Chargers after being listed as a full participant on Wednesday's practice estimate. If that comes to pass, Murray will push McCoy back to a reserve role, assuming the latter is active himself.

Impact McCoy got his second straight start with Kyler Murray (hamstring) sidelined. He began the performance in promising enough fashion, as he led Arizona to 10 points across its first five possessions while relying heavily on DeAndre Hopkins. However, things fell apart rapidly in the second half, with the result being an abysmal performance from both an individual and team perspective. Murray has been a game-time decision each of the last two weeks, which makes it realistic for him to return in Week 12 against the Chargers, though the team could also play it safe and hold him out until Week 14 following its Week 13 bye.

Getting another start for Murray McCoy will start in place of Kyler Murray (hamstring) on Monday against the 49ers in Mexico City, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Impact With Murray out for a second consecutive contest, McCoy again will get the nod under center. McCoy missed two snaps to have his left leg looked at during a Week 10 win at the Rams and then was limited at the first practice of Week 11 prep due to a knee injury. Having said that, he was able to log full sessions Friday and Saturday and will look to put up another fair effort Monday after completing 26 of 37 passes for 238 yards and one touchdown during the aforementioned victory. Helping McCoy's cause is the fact that DeAndre Hopkins will be available after dealing with a hamstring issue ahead of this game.

Impact Josina Anderson of CBS Sports further supports Rapoport's report, noting that McCoy will "definitively" start Monday, with the Cardinals having known since last week that Murray wasn't on track to play in Mexico City. Though Murray at least has taken some steps forward in his recovery, practicing on a limited basis Thursday through Saturday, the Cardinals apparently aren't convinced that he's healed enough to return to the lineup. A final word on his status won't arrive until the Cardinals release their inactive list 90 minutes before the 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff, but assuming Murray is inactive, Trace McSorley will dress as McCoy's backup for the second week in a row. How both fare Saturday likely will be the deciding factor for coach Kliff Kingsbury ahead of Monday's game versus the 49ers, but McCoy seems to have a chance to earn a second straight start in place of Murray.
