Out for season Galvin suffered a torn MCL in Thursday's preseason loss against the Giants and will require season-ending surgery, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.

Impact The second-year offensive tackle was carted off into the locker room during Detroit's preseason opener. He'll now have to focus on next season after making one appearance for the Lions last season with seven special-teams snaps.

Injures knee Thursday Galvin suffered a knee injury in Thursday night's preseason loss to the Giants, Justin Rogers of DetroitFootball.net reports.

Impact Galvin was rolled up on and was eventually carted to the locker room. Rogers suspects it's a likely long-term injury for the backup tackle. Galvin made one appearance for the Lions last season, playing seven special teams snaps.
