Impact Perhaps more importantly, the transaction inks Reynolds with Detroit through 2022, a much-deserved development after the Kutztown product amassed 216 total yards in his last two appearances. D'Andre Swift (shoulder) and/or Jamaal Williams (illness) could be back in action for Week 16 against a Falcons defense that's proven susceptible to the run, but Reynolds appears to have played his way into the No. 3 backfield role at the very least.

Runs over Cardinals Reynolds rushed 26 times for 112 yards while catching his only target for five yards during Sunday's 30-12 win over Arizona.
Impact With D'Andre Swift (shoulder) and Jamaal Williams (illness) sidelined again, Reynolds carried the load for Detroit while Jermar Jefferson (five carries for nine yards) spelled him on occasion. The Kutztown product now has 216 total yards over the past week and has quickly shown that the team might have made a mistake in cutting him in favor of Jefferson this fall. While it's possible that Swift and/or Williams could return in Week 16 against Atlanta, it otherwise seems like Reynolds could get a heavy workload against a Falcons defense that ranks 24th in fantasy points allowed to running backs.

Impact Reynolds could be looking at another heightened workload this weekend with both of D'Andre Swift (shoulder) and Jamaal Williams (COVID-19) looking unlikely to play. However, with Jefferson further removed from having the flu as well as a thigh injury, his upside could be capped by a committee approach. There's also the risk that there aren't many carries to be split up in the first place if Detroit's weak offense struggles to extend drives against Arizona's fourth-ranked scoring defense this Sunday.

Impact Godwin Igwebuike and Jermar Jefferson were expected to lead the Detroit backfield in the absence of D'Andre Swift (shoulder) and Jamaal Williams (COVID-19), but instead it was Reynolds who emerged as the most effective rusher for the team just one day after being promoted from the practice squad. He came into Sunday with only two career touches in the NFL, both coming at the end of last season for the Jaguars, but the 25-year-old may have earned a permanent spot on the Lions' roster for the rest of 2021 with this performance. Whether he has any further fantasy value will depend on how quickly Swift and Williams are back in the lineup, however.
