Impact Carson was able to log three full practices in a row to end the week, but he'll still be forced to miss Week 8 with the shoulder injury that has sidelined him since late September. In his absence, C.J. Goodwin will likely operate in an expanded role again versus San Francisco.

Impact Kendricks popped up on the injury report with a shoulder issue at practice this week, but he now appears to have moved past the issue in time for Week 8. The linebacker missed the team's loss to the Lions in Week 6 due to a calf injury, which he has also recovered from. Impact Stephens is done for the 2024 season after suffering a left ACL tear in practice Wednesday. He missed the entire 2023 campaign due to an ACL tear in the same knee, a reality that leaves the 2023 UDFA out of Louisiana with a difficult road to recovery. He remains under contract with Dallas through the 2025 season.

Dalvin Cook - To be elevated to active roster Cook was elevated from the practice squad Saturday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Impact It's a bit surprising it's taken this long for Cook to be elevated from the practice squad given Dallas' inefficiencies at running back, but the delay might speak more to the veteran's abilities at this point in his career than anything else. Given Ezekiel Elliott (3.0 yards per carry) and Deuce Vaughn (2.9 yards per carry) have been woefully insufficient, Cook getting any sort of work likely won't come at the expense of Rico Dowdle, who has been easily the best of a poor group or running back options.

Jordan Phillips - Won't be activated ahead of Week 8 Phillips (wrist) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the 49ers, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Phillips' 21-day window to return from injured reserve opened Wednesday. He was a full practice participant all week, but the Cowboys will err on the side of caution and hold the 2015 second-round pick out for at least one more week. Barring any setbacks, Phillips should be on track to make his return for the Cowboys' Week 9 contest against the Falcons on Sunday, Nov. 3. In the meantime, Linval Joseph and Carlos Watkins will continue to serve as Dallas' backup interior defensive lineman behind starters Mazi Smith and Osa Odighizuwa.
