Impact After missing four regular-season games due to a shoulder injury, Carson has played in the Cowboys' last two games and has logged 12 tackles (10 solo) and two pass defenses over that span. However, his lingering shoulder issue and an illness caused him to sit out of Thursday's practice. Carson's practice participation over the next two days will indicate whether he'll play Monday against the Texans.

Jourdan Lewis - Dealing with neck injury Lewis (neck) did not practice Thursday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.

Impact Lewis logged four tackles (two solo) during the Cowboys' Week 10 loss to the Eagles, but it appears he may have picked up a neck injury in the process. The 2017 third-round pick will have two more chances to practice ahead of Monday's game against the Texans. In the three regular-season games since the Cowboys' Week 7 bye, Lewis has logged 17 tackles (nine solo).

DaRon Bland - Remains sidelined with foot injury Bland (foot) was listed as a DNP on Thursday's injury report, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.

Impact Bland's 21-day practice window to return from injured reserve opened Oct. 30, but the 2022 fifth-round pick has failed to return to practice since. If he's not activated off IR by Nov. 20, Bland would be forced to spend the rest of the 2024 regular season on IR. At this point, it appears unlikely that he will be able to play against the Texans on Monday.

Impact Ferguson has caught multiple passes in all eight appearances this season en route to a 42-358-0 line on 57 targets. With Dak Prescott (hamstring) out for the season, Ferguson now is on the receiving end of passes from Cooper Rush, but first the tight end will need to get past his current ailment in order to make himself available Monday against the Texans.

Rico Dowdle - Lead back moving forward Coach Mike McCarthy called Dowdle the Cowboys' "lead back" Thursday, Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Impact Dallas has operated with a committee approach to its backfield so far this season but ranks 31st in rushing yards per game (83.7). Dowdle has been by far the most productive option, recording 4.5 YPC versus Ezekiel Elliott's 3.7, Dalvin Cook's 2.5, Deuce Vaughn's 2.9 and Hunter Luepke's 3.2. In eight appearances, Dowdle has averaged 13.4 touches per game, a number that should increase following McCarthy's comments.
