Officially moves to IR The Eagles placed Goedert (shoulder) on injured reserve Wednesday.

Impact Goedert suffered the shoulder injury in the second half of Monday's loss to the Commanders, when he was tackled to the ground on an uncalled facemask and charged with a lost fumble. The Eagles reportedly don't believe Goedert is done for the season, but the tight end will have to miss at least four weeks now that he's been placed on IR. Philadelphia will have to rely on a combination of Jack Stoll, Grant Calcaterra and Tyree Jackson (knee) to hold down the fort at tight end, but the loss of a playmaker of Goedert's caliber could limit the Eagles' effectiveness on offense.

Impact The exact nature of Goedert's injury isn't yet known, nor has a timeline for a return been established or a decision been made on whether or not he'll go on injured reserve, but the Eagles don't believe the tight end will be lost for the season. In Monday's game, Goedert recorded three receptions for 23 yards and a touchdown on three targets, but he had a key lost fumble in the fourth quarter. On that lost fumble, Goedert was grabbed in the facemask by a Washington defender, but a penalty wasn't called and Goedert appeared to suffer the injury on the play in question. The Eagles are likely to offer further details on Goedert's injury in the days to come, but expect the team to turn to a combination of Jack Stoll, Grant Calcaterra and Tyree Jackson (knee) to fill in for him at tight end for the next few weeks.

Impact Goedert gave the Eagles a 14-7 lead with a six-yard touchdown catch late in the first quarter, but Washington stormed back with 13 unanswered points in the second to take a 20-14 lead into the locker room. After Philadelphia cut the deficit to two in the fourth quarter, Goedert lost possession of the ball while being brought down by his facemask. The facemask went unnoticed but the fumble stood, and Goedert headed to the blue medical tent after the play, adding injury to insult. He returned on the next drive, but the fumble proved to be a pivotal moment in Philadelphia's first loss of the season. After finding the end zone only once through seven games, Goedert has compiled a two-game touchdown streak, which he will look to extend in Week 11 against the Colts.
