Staying with Chiefs Sorensen re-signed with the Chiefs on a one-year, $2.4 million contract Thursday, Nate Taylor of The Athletic reports.

Impact Sorensen, who's suited up with the team for the past seven seasons, will return to Kansas City after compiling a career high in tackles (91) during the 2020 campaign. Additionally, the 31-year-old posted five pass breakups, two forced fumbles and three interceptions in his 15 games last season. Sorensen will return to his prominent role in the Chiefs' secondary in 2021.

Impact Not only did Sorenson lead the team in tackles by a wide margin, but he also had a nose for the football in 2020, notching two forced fumbles to go along with his three interceptions despite starting just 11 of the 15 games he appeared in. Sorensen's contract expires this offseason, so there is no guarantee he will be in a Chiefs uniform come 2021.
