Increased role ahead Bell will start at free safety against the Eagles on Sunday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

Impact Bell will see a major uptick in work during Week 6 with Ronnie Hickman (ankle) and Grant Delpit (concussion) inactive against Philadelphia. The 27-year-old hasn't seen much action this season outside of special teams work, but on 214 defensive snaps last season did have four passes defended, including two interceptions.

Impact Despite Bell's placement on the active/PUP list, he's eligible to practice or play at any point this preseason. Bell is expected to compete for another depth role in the Browns' secondary once he returns to full health.

However, he cleared the league's protocol and practiced in full Friday to clear his way for a return against Tampa Bay. In nine games this season, Bell has tallied five tackles while playing 137 of his 146 snaps on special teams.
