Impact Njoku's return to the mix is a welcome one, with fellow tight end Austin Hooper among the numerous Cleveland players on the list in advance of Saturday's game against the Raiders and Harrison Bryant managing an ankle injury. With that in mind, Njoku figures to see a key role in the Browns' Week 15 passing game.

Moves to reserve/COVID-19 list The Browns plan to place Njoku on the reserve/COVID-19 later Tuesday, and his availability for Sunday's game against the Ravens is in question, Kimberley A. Martin of ESPN reports.
Impact Cleveland hasn't revealed whether Njoku has tested positive following its Week 13 bye or if he will be placed on the list as a close contact of an infected person. The reason behind his placement on the list -- as well as his vaccination status -- will be determining factors in whether he'll have a realistic shot at playing this weekend. Before the Browns went on bye, Njoku drew at least four targets in each of the team's last three games, cobbling together a 6-66-1 receiving line over that span.

Impact Njoku was the lone position player to hit pay dirt in an awful showing from the Browns' offense. The veteran tight end continues to see regular usage alongside Austin Hooper (zero receptions), as Cleveland deploys plenty of two tight end sets. Njoku has shown occasional offensive spurts this year, but the shared usage with Hooper limits both players' fantasy values. The Browns will enter the bye week before taking on the Ravens again in Week 14.

Impact The downfield passing game suffered with the inconsistency of the injured Baker Mayfield (shoulder/knee/foot). The quarterback was booed after missing badly on a throw to Njoku with just over five minutes left. Unfortunately for Njoku and the rest of the receivers, that's the state of Cleveland's offense right now. The passing game is abysmal, and other than the time needed to heal Mayfield's wounds, there doesn't appear to be a fix in sight. A healthy Nick Chubb is its best weapon. Since a Week 5 breakout performance, Njoku has caught 10 of 18 targets for 112 yards and one touchdown over six games.

Impact The Cleveland passing game has taken several major hits after trading Odell Beckham to the Rams, as Donovan Peoples-Jones (groin) and Anthony Schwartz (concussion) are inactive for the Week 11 contest. This leaves Jarvis Landry and Rashard Higgins as the primary wideouts, with both Ja'Marcus Bradley and Lawrence Cager activated from the practice squad and available Sunday. Cleveland looks set to address this problem by using fewer three-wideout sets, instead electing to use both Njoku and Hooper in a base formation featuring two tight ends. Don't be surprised if Harrison Bryant finds himself in the mix as well. As for Njoku, he's been out-snapped by Hooper in all but two weeks this season, and has had consecutive weeks with only one catch (though his Week 9 reception was a touchdown).

Impact Njoku nearly had a touchdown on the first series, but he failed to hold onto a pass in the back of the end zone, allowing the ball to be knocked from his hands. It was a tough day for the Cleveland offense, which did nothing after its scripted first drive which resulted in a touchdown. Quarterback Baker Mayfield (knee/shoulder) was off all day, even during the scoring drive when he completed three of six attempts. The quarterback's lone pick came on a pass to Njoku, who may have been expected to come back for the ball but didn't. The silver lining is that Cleveland's tight ends have received nearly as many targets as the team's wideouts since Odell Beckham skipped town; the downside is that all three tight ends are used significantly and it's hard to predict which will be a fantasy producer.
