Seven catches in loss Douglas recorded seven catches on nine targets for 35 yards in Sunday's 20-17 overtime loss to the Titans.
Impact Douglas led the Patriots with nine targets and tied for the team lead with seven receptions. Drake Maye didn't push the ball down the field much, limiting Douglas' yardage potential, though he still managed his first catch of at least 20 yards since Week 6 and just his fourth such reception of the campaign. While his final line was unremarkable, Douglas' ability to command targets was notable after seeing only six combined across his two prior games.

Impact Douglas finished sixth on the team in receiving yards while no Patriots player had more than 46 receiving yards or a touchdown through the air. Impact Douglas caught two of his three targets for 14 yards in the first half, but shortly after halftime, the Patriots labeled him as questionable to return due to an illness. The second-year wideout appeared to check back into the game for one snap in the second half, but New England never officially announced that he was cleared to return to the game. The Patriots may have been consciously staying away from Douglas after he required anti-nausea medication in addition to an IV prior to the game so that he could attempt to play through the illness, per Rapoport. Provided his condition doesn't take a turn for the worse in the next few days, Douglas should be ready to play and take on a more normal share of snaps in the Patriots' Week 8 game versus the Jets next Sunday.

Impact Douglas' 35-yard touchdown came in the fourth quarter after the result was no longer in doubt, but the 2023 sixth-round draft pick will cherish it all the same as the first touchdown of his NFL career. Impact All three components of Douglas' receiving line were team highs. Douglas benefitted from the absence of No. 2 receiver K.J. Osborn (shoulder) and wasn't impacted by the season debut of veteran Kendrick Bourne (knee), who drew a sole target.
