Impact The 31-year-old has drawn exactly five targets in four of six games this year, with his 45 yards from Sunday representing a season high. The team might eventually give more work to younger players, but Inman likely will retain his top-three role for at least Week 7 against the Cowboys. A Week 8 bye could be a logical time for Washington to kick off a youth movement, though the current state of the NFC East means the team will be right in the hunt if it can upset Dallas next Sunday.

Impact It was a rough day for the Washington offense, with Kyle Allen (arm) and Alex Smith combining for 41 sack yards and only 111 passing yards. Inman lost his four-game streak with five or more targets, though he never reached 40 yards anyway during that stretch. He does get a better matchup Week 5, facing the Giants at the Meadowlands.

Inman took on season-high 80 percent snap share with Sims inactive last week, catching four of five targets for 29 yards in a 31-17 loss to Baltimore. Inman has seen either five or six targets each week this season, scoring a pair of touchdowns (both in Week 3) despite producing only 5.0 YPT. It's possible his efficiency stats improve with Kyle Allen replacing Dwayne Haskins under center, though Allen was a turnover machine for the Panthers last season.

Impact After failing to practice Wednesday, Inman is taking a step in the right direction. Washington's top WR Terry McLaurin (thigh) also did the same, while Steven Sims (toe) remained sidelined. Inman has consistently received 5-to-6 targets per game this season, but production has been lacking, with 11 catches (on 21 targets) for 105 yards. Still, two of those receptions went for touchdowns.

On the season, Inman has logged at least 50 percent of the snaps on offense in each of the team's four games, but aside from a two-TD performance Week 3 he hasn't surpassed 40 receiving yards in any contest.

Impact Inman failed to follow up on his two-touchdown performance in Week 3, instead returning to a more peripheral role. Three of his receptions went for under 10 yards, with his only substantial gain being a 13-yard reception late in the third quarter. However, there should be plenty of passing volume for Inman and other receivers in Week 5 as the team will host the Rams.

Should start this week Inman should have a key role in the Washington offense Sunday against Baltimore, as Steven Sims (toe) has been ruled out and Terry McLaurin (thigh) is listed as questionable.

Impact Inman actually hurt his wrist in the second half of last week's loss to the Browns, but not before he caught three of six targets for 38 yards and two touchdowns. He then returned to practice Thursday as a full participant, potentially setting up a busy Week 4 against the Ravens. Granted, this is hardly Inman's first crack at replacing an injured starter in the NFL, and the results largely have been underwhelming since his mini-breakout in 2016 with the Chargers (58 catches for 810 yards and four TDs). A matchup against the Baltimore secondary won't help, though the unit looked like a mess against Patrick Mahomes on Monday night. Dwayne Haskins, of course, is a far cry from Mahomes, nor will Inman be mistaken for Tyreek Hill or Sammy Watkins.

Impact Inman exited Washington's Week 3 loss to the Browns with a wrist injury, and afterward coach Ron Rivera said the wide receiver didn't suffer a fracture. It was somewhat concerning when Inman didn't practice Wednesday, but his ability to handle every rep one day later confirms his health ahead of Sunday's game against the Ravens.

Impact Inman worked as the No. 3 receiver for the second time in as many weeks, taking the field alongside Terry McLaurin and Steven Sims in three-wide sets. The role doesn't figure to produce more than two or three catches per week, as McLaurin and tight end Logan Thomas have been the central figures in the Washington passing game. Week 3 brings a trip to Cleveland.

Impact Inman was one of three wide receivers to get playing time, behind Terry McLaurin (93 percent snap share) and Steven Sims (83 percent). The Washington offense made frequent use of multi-TE formations, and there were also some plays where RBs Antonio Gibson and J.D. McKissic moved around the formation to line up in the slot or out wide. In any case, Inman tied for third on the team in targets, but Sims is probably the better fantasy choice moving forward, starting with Week 2 at Arizona.

Impact It says a lot about the position group that Inman is working with the starters just two weeks after he signed with the team. He caught only 12 passes in seven games for the Colts and Chargers last year, but a top-three role is a distinct possibility now that the 31-year-old is in Washington, where there appears to be open competition for playing time behind McLaurin. The other candidates for snaps include slot specialist Trey Quinn, rookie fourth-round pick Antonio Gandy-Golden and 2018 UDFA Cam Sims.
