Takes personal day Thursday Coach Robert Saleh said Moore has an excused absence from Thursday's practice, Kimberley A. Martin of ESPN reports.

Impact The absence was cited as a personal day, meaning Moore likely will be back on the practice field Friday. No matter, his status is one to monitor, especially considering his target count dwindled all the way to zero this past Sunday at Green Bay.

Just one catch against Miami Moore caught one of four targets for 11 yards in Sunday's 40-17 win over the Dolphins.

Impact The arrival of rookie first-round pick Garrett Wilson has negatively impacted Moore's usage after a promising rookie season in 2021, and this game created a new low-water mark for Moore, who had between 41 and 53 receiving yards in each of New York's first four games. Moore continues to run plenty of routes, even if he isn't being targeted nearly as frequently as last season, so the production will likely start to trend up eventually. However, getting back on track in Week 6 won't be easy against the stout Packers secondary.

Impact Moore showed early chemistry with quarterback Zach Wilson (knee) in Wilson's season debut, recording catches of 20 and 28 yards to help set up a second-quarter Jets touchdown. He was quiet the rest of the way but still finished second on the team in receiving yards behind Corey Davis (74). Moore's off to a slow start after a promising rookie season, but he'll look to build on this season-high yardage total in Week 5 against the Dolphins.

Impact Moore tied Garrett Wilson for second on the team in targets -- one behind running back Breece Hall -- but failed to do much with the volume. Three consecutive pedestrian performances to open the season have Moore at just 12 catches for 139 yards heading into a Week 4 trip to Pittsburgh, but perhaps the expected change under center from Joe Flacco to Zach Wilson (knee) will get the second-year wideout going.
