Trending toward depth role Rowe (back) is expected to be relegated to a depth role to begin the 2022 campaign, Mike Masala of USA Today reports.
Impact He took a back seat to starting safeties Jevon Holland and Brandon Jones down the stretch of the 2021 season, and Masala reports that Rowe could even be a trade candidate. Of course, his versatility at both safety and cornerback makes him a valuable asset, but dealing the 29-year-old to another franchise would also help free up cap space. If he were traded, the Dolphins would save roughly $4.6 million against the cap.

Impact Rowe logged a solo tackle prior to his departure in Sunday's regular-season finale. The 29-year-old appeared in all 17 games during the 2021 campaign and totaled 72 tackles (44 solo), three forced fumbles and four pass defenses.

Racks up nine stops Rowe had nine tackles (six solo) and one pass breakup during Sunday's 30-28 loss to the Falcons.
Impact Rowe only had four combined tackles in his previous two games, but he bounced back nicely versus Matt Ryan and the Falcons. The veteran played less than 30 percent of defensive snaps Weeks 6 and 7, but versus Atlanta he was back on the field 70 percent of the time. With Jason McCourty (foot) expected to require surgery, Rowe could handle an expanded role for the foreseeable future.

Impact Rowe is a relatively consistent producer in terms of tackles, but he doesn't regularly rack up coverage stats or sacks, which limits his fantasy upside in IDP formats. He did however make an impact play back in Week 1, in the form of a key forced fumble in the first half.
