Aaron Rodgers - Toe injury expected to linger Rodgers' fractured left pinkie toe isn't expected to fully heal until after the season, but the quarterback still intends to play through the issue, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Impact The toe injury first surfaced after Rodgers missed the Packers' Week 9 loss to the Chiefs following a positive COVID-19 test, but he's proceeded to start Green Bay's subsequent three games, completing 64.3 percent of his throws for 8.6 yards per attempt and a 6:1 TD:INT while leading his team to a 2-1 record during that stretch. Rodgers relayed that his toe showed some improvement during the Packers' Week 13 bye, but unless he gets some extended time off to rest up, the injury will likely continue to linger until after the season. According to Schefter, doctors are unable to completely numb the pain in Rodgers' toe because he needs to have complete feeling in his foot when he plants it on the field. Since Rodgers wouldn't be able to play if he underwent an operation that would require the insertion of a pin into his foot, he'll delay the decision on any surgery until after the regular season and any playoff contests that follow.
