Evan Williams - Limited in practice Wednesday Williams (hamstring) was listed as a limited practice participant Wednesday.

Impact Williams suffered a hamstring injury in Week 8 against the Jaguars, which was severe enough for him to be sidelined against the Lions in Week 9. The issue seems to have lingered beyond the Packers' Week 10 bye as Williams was limited in the first practice of the week, but the rookie fourth-round pick will have two more chances to increase his practice participation ahead of Sunday's game against the Bears.

Impact The Packers designated Lloyd for return from injured reserve Monday, and in his first session since Week 2 prep, he showed up not only with an ankle issue but another health concern as well. The former is the high-ankle sprain that has sidelined him the last seven games, while the latter is a new injury. Green Bay's top running back Josh Jacobs (quadriceps) also was limited Wednesday, leaving question marks in the team's backfield ahead of Sunday's game in Chicago.

Emanuel Wilson and recently Chris Brooks have been spelling Jacobs out of the backfield, but Lloyd could soon join them if he shows well enough in practice this week.

Impact Gutekunst suggested that Lloyd will take over the 53-man roster spot vacated by edge rusher Preston Smith, who was traded to the Steelers on Tuesday. The Packers are on bye this week, but if the Packers elect to open Lloyd's 21-day evaluation window in Week 11, the rookie running back could return to action as early as the team's Nov. 17 matchup with the Bears. After missing much of training camp and the preseason with hip and hamstring injuries, Lloyd didn't play Week 1, then carried six times for 15 yards and recorded a three-yard reception in his NFL debut in Week 2. He sprained his ankle in that Sept. 15 contest and was placed on IR two days later.

Impact Van Ness served as a rotational edge rusher through the first nine games of the regular season while also contributing to special teams.
