Quicker than expected recovery Phillips was back at practice Wednesday after missing time with a knee injury, Mark Gaughan of The Buffalo News reports. Impact Phillips had been a candidate for IR to begin the season, but general manager Brandon Beane stated Wednesday that the lineman is one of the players that may avoid that designation. While the fourth-year player out of Stanford isn't much of an IDP guy, he's a decent run stopper and can only help as the Steelers try to run the ball against the Bills' high-powered squad in Week 1, assuming of course Phillips keeps progressing and can be active for the game.
