Impact The neck injury would explain Conley's season-low 31 snaps (42 percent), but it should be noted that Nico Collins returned to the lineup Week 6. That, and the sudden emergence of Chris Moore means Conley will be squeezed for playing time going forward.

Impact Brooks has already been ruled out for Sunday's Week 7 matchup against the Cardinals due to a lung contusion that he sustained in the team's loss to the Colts. However, Culley is hopeful that the safety will be able to return to Houston on Monday.

Tyrod Taylor - Making improvements Coach David Culley said Monday things are being taken "day-to-day" with Tayor (hamstring), Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Impact Culley had referred to Taylor as 'week-to-week' heading into last Sunday's loss to the Colts, so it would appear that he's since taken some steps in the right direction. Per Culley, the Texans will have more information Wednesday regarding whether Taylor is ready to come off IR. If Taylor isn't back in action in time to suit up at Arizona in Week 7, Davis Mills will be called upon for another start. Culley also noted that Tayor will be worked back into action once activated, rather than immediately returning to his usual workload, according to Drew Dougherty of the Texans' official site.

Impact It was another workmanlike game for Brown, who led Houston's tight ends in snaps while serving as the best blocker among the position group. He remains the snap count leader at tight end, but Jordan Akins is the target leader and bigger threat when Houston's forced to throw.

Impact This was Akins' most productive game of 2021 and he moved up the target list, tying David Johnson at 18 for the season, second behind Brandin Cooks at 57. Akins and Pharaoh Brown have operated as co-leaders at tight end, altering from week to week as a target leader for the position group, but Akins is considered the better receiving threat. Unfortunately, rookie quarterback Davis Mills is not helping either player's value.

Impact Conley had a nice game Week 5 against the Patriots, but that is the outlier in a quiet season overall for the seven-year veteran. In the five other games, the 28-year-old wideout has eight targets, four catches and 50 yards. With Nico Collins returning from the injured list, Conley had a season-low 43-percent share of snaps and dropped on the depth chart.

Impact One week after Moore's breakout game against the Patriots, he remained a big part of the Texans' passing offense, but it did not translate into a meaningful impact Week 6. Moore's had 10 targets the last two weeks, but he now must deal with added competition from rookie Nico Collins, who returned following a three-week stint on the injured list.

Brandin Cooks is the clear No. 1, but the rookie third-round pick out of Michigan should get plenty of opportunities for a team that figures to play from behind a lot.
