Impact Amendola was able to log three practices on a limited basis this week, but that won't be enough for the 35-year-old to make his first appearance since Week 2. Look for Brandin Cooks, Chris Conley and Chris Moore to again lead the receiving corps in his stead, with a potential boost from the recently-activated Nico Collins.

Impact Taylor failed to make the active roster out of training camp as he worked back from surgery to repair his ACL. However, he's apparently healthy enough to contribute along the team's offensive line and will be active for the first time this season.

Laremy Tunsil - Headed to IR Tunsil (thumb) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.

Impact Tunsil underwent surgery to repair his thumb Thursday and is facing an estimated timeline of 4-to-6 weeks to return to the field. Given that, this move was a formality and will clear a roster spot for the Texans.

Jeff Driskel - Signed to active roster The Texans signed Driskel to their active roster Saturday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.

Impact Driskel was elevated from the practice squad for each of the last three games but hasn't yet made his season debut. He'll continue to serve as the backup to Davis Mills while Tyrod Taylor (hamstring) is on injured reserve.

Impact It's a bit surprising to see Collins activated so soon given he was just designated to practice earlier this week. As a result, Saturday's roster move has to be a positive sign regarding his health moving forward. The 2021 third-round pick was a popular sleeper entering the year given the lack of notable starting receivers opposite Brandin Cooks. That hasn't changed in Collins' absence, though the switch to Davis Mills might complicate things somewhat given the two theoretically haven't had much time to practice with one another. At the very least, the 6-foot-4 target is worth a speculative add in deeper formats given his potential in an offense that is still sorely lacking a second quality pass catcher.
