David Johnson - Garners 47 total yards in loss Johnson rushed six times for 25 yards and secured both targets for 22 yards in the Texans' 31-21 loss to the Browns on Sunday.
Impact The veteran was second on the team in carries behind Mark Ingram but only outpaced No. 3 option Phillip Lindsay by one tote. Johnson's work in the passing game was solid, but as long as all three of the veterans are at full health, each will likely have a difficult time putting together noteworthy individual performances. Through two games, Johnson looks to be competing with Lindsay for pass-catching duties out of the backfield as opposed to challenging Ingram for carries, but that naturally could change over time. Johnson will hope for more overall involvement in a Week 3 Thursday night matchup against the undefeated Panthers.

Phillip Lindsay - Gets into the end zone again Lindsay rushed five times for two yards but secured his only target for a 22-yard touchdown in the Texans' 31-21 loss to the Browns on Sunday.
Impact Lindsay's involvement in the ground game was utterly forgettable, but he gave fantasy managers who may have deployed him in deep season-long or daily contests something to smile about with his scoring grab in the latter portion of the first quarter to knot the game at 7-7. The former Bronco's role is going to almost assuredly fluctuate week to week as long as fellow proven backfield mates David Johnson and Mark Ingram also are healthy, making Lindsay a risky weekly proposition.

Mark Ingram II - Works as lead back again Ingram rushed 14 times for 41 yards and secured one of two targets for minus-1 yard in the Texans' 31-21 loss to the Browns on Sunday.
Impact While a Texans backfield that features three accomplished veteran backs rightfully gives fantasy managers jitters, Ingram has worked as the clear lead back over the first two games of the season. Whether that holds remains to be seen, but Ingram did outpace David Johnson and Phillip Lindsay by eight and nine carries, respectively, against Cleveland, albeit with not much production to show for it. It will be interesting to see if the workload among the trio is more evenly distributed with the quick four-day turnaround for a Week 3 interleague matchup against the Panthers.

Impact Mills unsurprisingly had his share of struggles upon unexpectedly having to enter the contest, but he was able to redeem himself to an extent with a two-yard touchdown toss to Brandin Cooks in the fourth quarter. The rookie third-round pick could be called on to start Thursday night's Week 3 matchup against the Panthers given the quick turnaround and the notoriously tricky nature of the the type of soft-tissue injury that prompted Taylor's early exit Sunday.

Brandin Cooks - Heavy workload in loss Cooks secured nine of 14 targets for 78 yards and a touchdown in the Texans' 31-21 loss to the Browns on Sunday.
Impact No other Texans wideout had more than one catch in the loss, cementing Cooks' status as the clear lead option on the depth chart. The veteran's steady stream of targets notably survived a change under center to rookie Davis Mills after Tyrod Taylor was forced out of the contest with a hamstring injury. Cooks has quickly drawn 21 targets over his first two contests, parlaying them into 14 catches for 210 yards and Sunday's two-yard touchdown connection with Mills. Cooks will look to keep up the strong numbers irrespective of who's under center when the Texans take on the Panthers in a Thursday night Week 3 contest.

Tyrod Taylor - Iffy for Thursday Taylor is slated to undergo an MRI on his injured hamstring, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Impact More should be known about the severity of Taylor's injury by Monday, but Rapoport indicates that sources tell him the veteran QB isn't expected to be able to play Thursday night against the Panthers. If that's the case, the stage would be set for rookie Davis Mills to draw his first NFL start.

Justin Reid - Knee injury appears minor Coach David Culley said that Reid (knee) left Sunday's game for precautionary reasons, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports.
Impact Reid's injury doesn't appear to be that serious, but he will likely undergo further testing this week to determine the severity. Eric Murray and Terrance Mitchell both left Sunday's contest as well, so the Texans will look for some good injury news from their safety room before Week 3.
