Impact The Iowa product sustained an ankle injury during Carolina's preseason finale, but it appears he's past the issue, as the Panthers waived him without an injury designation Wednesday. Smith-Marsette was thought to be one of the Panthers' top kick and punt returners before getting cut. He could very well end up on another team's practice squad or active roster heading into his fourth season in the NFL.
