Impact Brissett's contract will be presumably be on the cheaper side considering the Browns just traded Case Keenum to the Bills on Saturday in lieu of paying him $7.1 million this season. Brissett was truly miserable as Tua Tagovailoa's backup last season finishing the season with 1,114 passing yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions across five starts, but the 29-year-old has a wealth of experience and has proven capable when forced into action in the past. Brissett is expected to back up newly acquired starter Deshaun Watson and could be forced to start a number of games if the aforementioned Clemson product is suspended for any duration of time.

Impact Brissett was only able to lead Miami's offense to two wins during his time at the helm, and on the season he only averaged 5.7 yards per pass attempt. Though Brissett added 19 carries for 3.7 yards and a score, he also lost three of six fumbles. The 29-year-old veteran is now scheduled for free agency, meaning he will likely have to pursue his next backup gig elsewhere.

However, Tua Tagovailoa (finger) entered the game and played well, inspiring coach Brian Flores to leave Brissett on the bench for the rest of the night. Flores now expects Tagovailoa to return to the starting lineup, relegating Brissett to a familiar backup role. He should at least be healthy if called upon, having avoided a serious knee injury.

Impact Brissett took a hit and seemed to have suffered a serious knee injury early in the second half. However, after entering the medical tent, Brissett was spotted with his helmet on the sideline and appeared available to enter the game. However, Tua Tagovailoa (finger) energized the Dolphins offense upon entering the game, and the team stuck with him under center as a result. Prior to exiting the contest, Brissett had completed 11 of his 23 passes for 156 yards, with no touchdowns or interceptions. Given Tagovailoa's role in Thursday's upset win, it appears likely that Brissett will return to his backup role moving forward.
