Season-ending surgery not ruled out Alexander, who was placed on injured reserve Saturday, could require season-ending surgery to address the sprained AC joint in his right shoulder, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Impact Head coach Matt LaFleur said Saturday that Alexander will hold off on having surgery for the time being, as the Packers will instead wait and see how his shoulder heals while the star cornerback is on IR for at least the next three weeks. According to Schefter, Alexander is expected to receive opinions from multiple doctors before a decision on whether surgery is necessary is made within the next two weeks, so the Packers should gain some clarity on his status for the rest of the season before the end of the month. While the 2020 Pro Bowler is sidelined, rookie first-round pick Eric Stokes is expected to start on the perimeter opposite Kevin King, while Chandon Sullivan serves as the team's slot corner.
