Impact Thompson was relatively quiet in the season opener (two solo tackles) on an 84-percent share of the Cardinals' defensive snaps. In the past two games, he's combined for 15 stops and a quarterback hit on 96 percent of those plays. As long as he continues to remain on the field on most downs, Thompson may be harkening back to the 2019 campaign, when he put up 57 tackles as a rookie fifth-round pick of the NFL Supplemental Draft. There are a number of premier tacklers in Arizona's defense -- fellow safety Budda Baker and inside linebackers Jordan Hicks and Isaiah Simmons to name three -- but Thompson seems to have carved out his own portion so far this year.
