While fantasy managers shouldn't bank on Williams finding the end zone twice, the fact that he'll likely be serving as the Lions' top ballcarrier against the Packers' 29th-ranked run defense makes him a more appealing option than he might normally be on the occasions Swift has been active this season.

Impact Despite the return of D'Andre Swift from a three-game absence due to shoulder and ankle injuries, Williams still led the Lions' backfield in carries, doubling up his teammate in that category. It was also Williams who saw a pair of red-zone rushing opportunities he parlayed into touchdowns, with the versatile veteran going in from seven yards and one yard out in the first and second quarter, respectively. The fact he also had a solid role in the passing game made it a rewarding all-around afternoon for Williams despite a complementary role, and he'll look to make a big impact in a Week 9 home showdown against his former Packers squad.

Impact In possibly his last game before the return of D'Andre Swift (shoulder), Williams was relatively efficient on the ground but frustratingly fumbled at the one-yard line on his way into the end zone. That miscue, combined with Jared Goff's four turnovers, ruined Detroit's chances of pulling off the upset. While an offensive rebound can likely be expected in Week 8 against the Dolphins given the continued health of the Lions' talented offensive line, Williams could see a downtick in offensive responsibilities with Swift potentially back in the fold.

Now with D'Andre Swift (shoulder) targeting a return for after Detroit's Week 6 bye, Williams may have to share the backfield a little more than he has been lately in Week 7 against Dallas.

Impact While he played only 51 percent of snaps with Swift sidelined for the 48-45 shootout loss to Seattle last week, Williams accounted for 19 of the 23 carries handled by Detroit RBs and scored one TD at the goal line and another from distance. He's unlikely to find himself in such a wild game this week, but that might work in his favor in terms of snap share at least, and it's hard to argue with the results when he's averaging a career-best 4.5 YPC and leads the NFL with six rushing TDs. Williams again figures to get most of the carries, with Craig Reynolds and Justin Jackson working in reserve.

Impact Game script eventually capped Williams' overall opportunity, but not before he handled a true lead-back workload and delivered handsomely with it. The veteran back went in from one and 51 yards in the second and third quarters, respectively, with the first score coming on the final play of the first half and the second an impressive scamper up the right side of the field that showed off Williams' speed. With D'Andre Swift (shoulder) seemingly always hampered by at least one injury and his status uncertain for a Week 5 road battle against the Saints, Williams could be in for another solid workload versus New Orleans.
