Potential offseason cut The Jets can save $10 million in cap space if Crowder is traded or released, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Impact There's no question Crowder has been the team's best offensive weapon since he signed a three-year, $28.5 million contract during the 2019 offseason. The Jets certainly have enough cap space to keep him, but they might decide the $10 million could be better spent elsewhere or rolled over to next season. Crowder will turn 28 in June, and while he's played 84 of a possible 96 games through six seasons, he does have a history of recurring injuries to his left hamstring/thigh, He missed seven games in 2018 and four in 2020.

Despite missing four games due to injuries, Crowder still finishes the season as New York's leader in catches (59), receiving yards (699) and touchdowns (six). The standout slot receiver could be the beneficiary of an offseason quarterback upgrade, as the Jets are expected to select a new signal-caller with the second overall pick in the upcoming draft.

TDs as passer and receiver in win Crowder caught seven of nine targets for 92 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 23-16 win over the Browns. He also threw a 43-yard touchdown and rushed once for 14 yards.
Impact Crowder was the beneficiary of some creative play calling. He threw a dime down the sideline to Braxton Berrios on a trick play for a 43-yard touchdown late in the first quarter, then gained 14 yards on a Jet sweep to open New York's next drive. The slot receiver caught a 30-yard touchdown of his own in the third quarter, helping propel New York to its second consecutive win following an 0-13 start. Crowder has 55 catches for 668 yards and six touchdowns despite being limited to just 11 games played this season, and he'll look to finish on a high note in Week 17 against New England.

Impact Crowder has battled soft tissue injuries all season, and there's now a thigh injury in the mix along with the calf issue he has been playing through in recent weeks. Impact It wasn't a particularly impressive line, but Crowder led the Jets in receiving en route to the team's first win of the season. Injuries will prevent the sixth-year receiver from topping the personal best of 847 receiving yards he compiled for Washington in 2016, but on a per-game basis, Crowder is still putting together the best campaign of his career.

Impact With Crowder active, Denzel Mims (personal) back in action and Breshad Perriman also on hand, the Jets will at least have their top three wide receivers available Sunday, as the 0-13 team looks for its first win of the season. While playing at less than 100 percent in last week's loss to the Seahawks, Crowder's production dipped, as he finished with just two catches (on four targets) for a season-low seven yards. He'll look to rebound after logging back-to-back limited practices Thursday and Friday, but the fact that Crowder is the only player on his team with a Week 15 injury designation is an indication that he's still working through his calf issues.
