Activated off PUP list Stidham (back) has been activated off the Patriots' PUP list, Michael Giardi of NFL Network reports.

Impact Stidham returned to practice on Oct. 20, which means he was nearing the end of his 21-day window to be activated. He is now set to back up Mac Jones and Brian Hoyer as the team's No. 3 quarterback.

Impact Stidham will have a 21-day period to be added to the active roster, but if he isn't, he will return to the PUP list for the remainder of the season. Brian Hoyer has been operating as the backup quarterback behind Mac Jones, but Stidham will have a good chance of reclaiming that job when he is officially activated.

Impact Stidham will be inactive for the first six weeks of the season after being moved to the reserve/PUP list, leaving the Patriots with just one quarterback -- Mac Jones -- on their current roster.
