Impact After opening Week 18 prep with a pair of limited practices, Waddle was a full participant in Friday's session, putting to rest any concern about his status for the regular-season finale. As the Dolphins aim to secure a playoff spot Sunday, Waddle will be working with third-string quarterback Skylar Thompson, whom head coach Mike McDaniel named the team's Week 18 starter with Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) ruled out and with Teddy Bridgewater (finger/knee) listed as questionable and expected to be available only in a backup capacity. In Thompson's lone other start Week 6 against the Vikings, Waddle finished with six catches for 129 yards on 10 targets.

Impact Though Waddle's reps have been capped both of the past two days, the health of his shoulder is a lesser concern for his Week 18 fantasy prospects than the state of the Miami quarterback room. Head coach Mike McDaniel has all but ruled out Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) for a second straight game, while top backup Teddy Bridgewater (knee) has been limited in practice the past two days while battling a dislocated finger on his throwing hand. Bridgewater appeared to be doing more work Thursday than he did Wednesday, but rookie seventh-rounder Skylar Thompson could be trending toward his second career start at this stage of the week. The Dolphins' final Week 18 practice Friday should provide more clarity on the status of Waddle heading into the weekend, as well as Miami's plans at quarterback.

Impact Waddle played through a shoulder injury in October without missing any games, and he'll likely do the same this weekend against the Jets as the Dolphins fight for the final wild-card spot in the AFC. Skylar Thompson took the first team-reps at quarterback during practice Wednesday with Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) unavailable and with Teddy Bridgewater limited due to a dislocated finger. Thompson looks to be trending toward the Week 18 start at this stage, which would likely be a more negative development to Waddle's fantasy prospects than if Bridgewater were to receive the start.

Impact Waddle was held in check both by a conservative gameplan and Teddy Bridgewater (finger) being replaced by Skylar Thompson in the third quarter with Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) already inactive, but it was nonetheless surprising to see him draw less targets than all of Raheem Mostert, Jeff Wilson and Trent Sherfield, not to mention Tyreek Hill. The Dolphins will work to get healthier in time for Week 18's matchup against the Jets, but it's possible Waddle could again be catching passes from Sherfield during the regular-season finale.

Impact Waddle's game-high receiving yardage total was his best since Week 8, while his trip to the end zone, which came on a 67-yard grab in which he got wide open in the middle of the field and capped off the Dolphins' first second-half drive, was his first touchdown since Week 10. Waddle did subsequently exit the game briefly with a forearm injury but was able to return. The third-year wideout still hasn't logged more than five catches since Week 8, however, a matter he'll look to rectify in a key Week 16 Christmas Day battle at home against the Packers.
