Impact On Wednesday, coach Kevin Stefanksi said certain Browns starters had a chance to play this weekend, but the team ultimately will keep QB Deshaun Watson, WR Amari Cooper and TE David Njoku (undisclosed) on the sideline along with Jeudy. As a result, Jeudy's debut with Cleveland will have to wait until Week 1 on Sunday, Sept. 8 against the Cowboys after four campaigns in Denver in which he topped out with a 67-972-6 receiving line in 15 regular-season games back in 2022.

Impact Browns coach Kevin Stefanski suggested that QB Deshaun Watson and other starters are scheduled to play in Saturday's preseason finale, after most of the key guys were held out for the first two exhibitions. That includes Jeudy, who dealt with a knee injury earlier in training camp but has now been a full practice participant for about a week. The 25-year-old will be Cleveland's No. 2 wideout, slotting in between top dog Amari Cooper and the demoted Elijah Moore.

Jeudy's next chance to suit up for preseason action will come Saturday at home against the Vikings.

That's likely in deference to the minor knee issue that caused him to miss most of camp. The Browns immediately extended Jeudy's contract after he was acquired in March, which is an obvious sign the plan is for Watson and Jeudy to be busy this season. The team envisions not only Jeudy's top-end speed but also as a dangerous weapon on quick throws out of the slot. The belief is that Jeudy and Pro Bowl tight end David Njoku can line up across the formation, allowing Watson to pick out mismatches on short, safe throws that could turn into big plays.

Impact After missing some time, Jeudy is being eased back into the mix, but his presence on the field both Thursday and Friday bode well for his chances of participating fully in practice before long. As the coming season approaches, Jeudy -- who signed a three-year extension with the Browns after coming over in a trade with the Broncos -- is slated to be a prime target for QB Deshaun Watson alongside top WR Amari Cooper, with Elijah Moore and Cedric Tillman also in line to garner their share of looks. In that context, Jeudy -- a 2020 first-rounder -- should have an opportunity to surpass the 54/758/2 receiving mark he recorded in 16 regular-season outings with Denver last season.
