Impact Matthews joined the Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2023, but he suffered a torn ACL during training camp, derailing what had been a strong showing up until that point. The San Diego State product's addition to the practice squad will continue to give him a chance to get on the team's active roster.

Expect Matthews to compete for a depth role in the Falcons' wide receiver room as the offseason progresses.

Impact Matthews appears to have recovered from the torn ACL that forced him to spend the entire 2023 season on IR with Houston. Now, the former San Diego State will work to earn an opportunity with Seattle, where due to his speed he could offer upside as a special-teams project.

Impact Matthews, who signed as an undrafted free agent with Houston last year, spent all of 2023 on the injured reserve with a torn anterior cruciate ligament. The Texans released him earlier during the offseason.
