Hurts ribs in second preseason game Wolford suffered a rib injury during Saturday's exhibition loss to Jacksonville, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports. Impact Baker Mayfield didn't suit up for the contest, leaving Kyle Trask to play the first half and Wolford to handle the second. The latter couldn't complete the fourth quarter, as he was injured on a roughing the passer penalty with less than two minutes remaining, resulting in Trask reentering the game. Head coach Todd Bowles said after the matchup that he isn't sure how severe Wolford's injury is, but if the QB needs to miss the team's final exhibition game next Friday against Miami, his outside chance of unseating Trask for the backup role behind Mayfield could come to an end. As it is, Trask had the better performance Saturday, completing 12 of 19 pass attempts for 108 yards and a touchdown and adding one rush for four yards on the ground while Wolford completed just 7 of 14 pass attempts for 52 yards with no scores.
